Celebrate Durga Puja in Digha

by Sanjay Nandy Digital Marketing Manager

Durga Puja, the biggest festival for Bengalis, is a little more than a month away. Though Kolkata, the City of Joy, is famous for the Durga Puja celebration, some Kolkatans prefer to spend the four-day vacation far away from their home town. Why only Kolkatans? The idea resonates with what many Bengalis in different parts of West Bengal think. With so many exciting, exotic and off-beat spots in India and abroad, Digha hardly hits our mind when it comes to seeking the Goddess’ blessing far away from the maddening crowd.

Durga Puja &Digha

India has a rich heritage of art and culture. Different festivals and customs are celebrated in the country, cutting across the border of regionalism and religiosity. Durga Puja is the biggest of all festivals celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm in West Bengal. Every Bengali awaits the arrival of DeviDurga to worship the Goddess, the embodiment of women’s empowerment, enjoy get-togethers with family and friends and experience a great food fiesta.

Durga Puja is celebrated across Bengal, even in different parts of India and abroad as well. Hence, it springs no surprise that this festival is observed with no less devotion and dedication in a small town like Digha. This Midnapore town gets a new makeover on the eve of the festival. A few Puja committees in Dighahost the festival. A lot of preparations go on months before the four-day festival starts. However, the place is not thick with a crowd.

For those who want to stay miles away from the amplified hustle-bustle of city life during this time and feel spiritually blessed in the lap of serenity, Digha is an ideal location for a refreshing escape. You will miss nothing despite being away from your home. Every single aspect of the festival, from offering Anjali to having Prasad, pandal hopping to street foods, a grand celebration to teary immersion, can be enjoyed with your loved ones and also the strangers staying in Digha hotels. The gala, the grace, the get-together – nothing will be missed here.

Get-together, fondly and famously called Adda in Bengali, is one of the big aspects of such a big festival. Raise a storm in a teacup, laugh out loud and travel back to the old days or whatever you like to do with your family and friends. Digha hotels offer a neat and nice ambience and whip up special menus to flavour up your festive mood. Furthermore, you will get to befriend other boarders in the hotels and all of you become a family during these four days. It will be a new experience to cherish forever.

Hotel Booking in Advance

In the last few years, Digha has emerged as one of the hotspots for travellers during Durga Puja. In the last two years, pandemics played havoc on the tourism industry which is slowly getting back to recovery. It is highly expected that the beach town will see tourists trickling in from Saptami this year. Hence, Hotel Utopia encourages advanced booking for the Old Digha hotel low price. This year, if you plan to celebrate Puja at a tranquil spot, don’t think beyond Digha.
