Catch a Good Night's Sleep and Give Your Eyes the Best Care

by The Marcom Avenue Marketing Agency

Every day, our brain and body sync to perform daily activities. Our vital body parts such as eyes, ears, nose, and face are exposed to light, air, climate, and other external factors.

We often sleep for a while to give our body rest and a good time. A whole night's sleep or 8 hours of sleep is the remedy, nonetheless what if someone is facing issues in sleeping? Eye specialist Doctor diagnose tired eyes as a vision issue.

There is an interesting parallel between good sleep and eyes. They share a proportional relationship. The amount of sleep you get, the quality of your eyes will get better.

What happens to your eyes while you sleep?

When you close your eyes, light doesn’t enter inside the eyes. The eyes will not send any visual data or information to the brain. Eye specialists have divided sleep into 5 stages.  REM aka rapid eye movement is the 5th stage of sleep where our eyes move rapidly but our body is fully asleep.

Eyes feel fresh after a good sleep. They tend to be moist and without tiredness. However, if you are sleep-deprived, things can be difficult for your eyes. Sleep deprivation can cause serious issues like Glaucoma or sometimes total vision loss.

Sleep Deprivation can cause symptoms-

  • Twitching in eyes

  • Pain in eyes

  • Spasm in eyes

  • Blurr visuals

  • Dryness in eyes

  • Vision loss

When you don’t get enough sleep, your eyes experience pain and twitch. Sleep deprivation can cause strain in eye nerves, blood vessel bursting, and dryness in the eyes. You need to get in touch with an eye specialist if you are facing such issues.

How to get perfect sleep?

There are people who cannot get enough sleep. Sometimes, it must be sleep apnoea, or sometimes, it could be just exposure to light.

Follow these universal suggestions to get a perfect night’s sleep-

  • Turn off your blue light devices

Limit your devices such as laptops, iPad, mobile phones, and tablets before sleeping. These devices emit blue light and that’s giving strain on our eyes. It is worse if you are watching or reading on your phone in a dark room.

  • Wear an eye mask if you cannot close your eyes

If your eyelids don’t keep shut, you can use an eye mask while sleeping. It will block every light from entering the eyes.

  • Maintain a consistent bedtime

Always maintain consistency in going to bed and waking up in the morning. If you are able to pull it off, your body will receive cues from the brain regarding when to sleep and when to wake.
