Cataract surgery and recovery from the surgery

Cataract is the clouding of the eye lens that causes the blur vision and if not treated in time can lead to permanent loss of vision.  The modern cataract surgery can restore the vision and reduce dependence on glass.

 

The cataract surgery, the clouded lens is removed and artificial lens known as intraocular lens in put in the eye, to give back the normal vision. The high frequency ultrasound device is used to break the clouded lens into smaller pieces. These small broken pieces are then removed by suction method .This procedure is called phacoemulsification. The procedure is performed with small incision. This procedure promotes faster healing and risk of any complication is considerably reduced. After removing the broken parts of the clouded lens, the surgeon inserts intraocular lens behind pupil and iris. This lens is put exactly in the same place where the clouded lens was. The stitching of the small incision may or may not be needed. It heals automatically. The eye is covered for few days of recovery and then this cover is removed.

 

The laser cataract surgery is bit expensive compare to the phacoemulsfication procedure. The main reason is the cost of the laser used in this operation. And few hospitals are equipped to provide this facility. It is considered that the use of laser may give some accuracy in the operation, there is no difference in recovery time, the end result from the other surgery to remove cataract.

 

The actual surgery to Cataract surgery in Delhi  remove the cataract takes place only in less than half an hour. But the patient has to spend some time to prepare for surgery. The patient is not allowed to stay in hospital. Everything happen on the same day .The local eye drops are given to dilate the pupils, local anesthesia is also given. After the surgery, patient is also required to remain in hospital for few minutes for evaluation. After the surgery, patient should not do some strenuous exercises and swimming. The patient should be driven home by someone. He or she should never attempt divining until doctors give clear permission. The doctor or surgeon may also suggest use of some eye drops for few days. The patient is given an eye shield to protect Lasik laser in Delhi the eye in initial days after the surgery. The protective sunglasses are also used to protect the eye from sunlight and strong light of any kind. All the suggestion and recommendation by doctors should be followed by the patient leading to full recovery. The use of medication and drops must be taken regularly. The visit to same doctor is must before removing the eye shield or resuming normal functions.  The patient must consult the doctor for any issues regarding the vision and after effects, if any, on the vision.
