CAT 2015 Result / Scorecard

CAT 2015 Result – This year CAT was conducted on 29 November 2015 by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. The result for CAT 2015 is scheduled to be released in the 2^nd week of January 2016. The CAT 2015 score card will be available online on the official website of CAT. No CAT scorecard will be sent via mail or courier to the candidate’s registered address. However, the candidates can check their CAT 2015 Result by clicking on the link provided in the article. The candidate must note that the link will be activated with the release of the result. The CAT exam pattern for 2015 has undergone a huge change.
 

Salient Features of CAT 2015 Result

With the release of the CAT 2015 Result, candidates can click on the link to download their CAT scorecard. The CAT 2015 scorecard will contain the candidate’s composite score, sectional score, and overall percentile after normalization process. There were three sections in CAT 2015 exam, and the candidates are required to clear the cutoff percentile for each section. Every correct Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) answer contains 3 marks while an incorrect answer is of -1 mark. There is no negative marking for the non- MCQs. The candidates are also required to clear the aggregate and must note that the cutoff is different for each category. The cutoff for each IIM and other management Institute will be different from each other for selection in the next round of admission. The IIMs will be releasing their list of shortlisted candidates around the third week of January 2016.
 

Steps to Calculate CAT 2015 Score

The first step to calculate the marks obtained is by checking the correct and incorrect answers.  The exam was held in two slots on the same day and to adjust the differences between the two sessions, the total and individual score is scaled and normalized.

·   Once the log-in page for CAT 2015 Result is open, candidates can enter their CAT ID and password to log in.

· Once the CAT 2015 Scorecard is displayed, the candidates can download it for further purpose as no hard copy will be sent to the candidates.

CAT 2015 Result – Shortlisting Procedure

The IIMs will shortlist candidates on the basis of their admission criteria and CAT 2015 Cutoff. Candidates shortlisted based on their CAT 2015 Score are required to appear for their Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). The new IIMs will also follow the same procedure. However, the candidates must note that the shortlisting for PI and WAT does not assure a seat in the IIMs. The final selection and allotment of seats will be based on the candidate’s CAT score, performance in PI & WAT and the candidate’s academic profile.

The candidates with a high composite score have the better chance of getting selected in the final admission. The candidates must appear for the PI and WAT according to the schedule.
