CAT 2015 MBA Examination

CAT 2015 is the most prestigious entrance examination for taking admission in MBA postgraduate program in IIMs and other participating B-schools. It would be conducted in online mode on 29 November 2015 by IIM-Ahmadabad that has been selected as the exam governing body this year. CAT 2015 Application Form

Candidates can fill the form on the official website of the CAT 2015 MBA Examination. First, candidates had to register by entering all the basic details. Thereafter they can log in their account using user ID and password to fill the rest of the application form. All the educational, personal, communicational, and professional details are to be filled correct and complete. They must mention cities of choice for CAT MBA Examination as well as the course they want to pursue.

CAT 2015 Application Fee

Fee for the application and examination is to be paid in online mode only. Fee is Rs.1600 and Rs.800 for UR/OBC and SC/ST/PwD category candidates respectively. It can be paid in online mode only which involves net-banking or credit/debit card.

• Other Backward Classes (Non- creamy layer OBC) - 27%
• Schedule Caste (SC) - 15%
• Schedule Tribes (ST) - 7.5%

CAT 2015 Exam Pattern

• Candidate would be allowed 3 hours to take the CAT MBA Examination.
• There shall be a total of 3 sections in the exam.
• Sections are – Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC), and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR).
• Number of questions – total 100 (QA – 34, VRC – 34, and DLIR – 32).
• Use of basic online calculator is allowed.
• Each section would have 60 minutes to solve.
• Exam would be conducted on a single day in two sessions.
• Mode of the CAT 2015 MBA Examination is online.
• Questions would be a mix of objective and descriptive.

CAT 2015 Marking Scheme

Raw Score

It is calculated for each section on the basis of correct and incorrect answers also considering un-attempted questions. For correct answer, 3 marks are given. For incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted. No marks are cut for not attempting a question.

Scaled Score

Raw score is adjusted by “equating” method. These equated raw score is placed over a common scale to interpret the final score. This final score is called the scaled score.

CAT 2015 Schedule of Exam

• Release of official notification - 26 July 2015
• Online registration begins - 6 August 2015
• Online registration ends - 25 September 2015 (Date Extended)
• Admit card download begins - 15 October 2015 (from 01:00 PM till 12:00 AM of the date of exam)
• CAT 2015 Exam - 29 November 2015
• Result declaration – 2nd week of January 2016
