I am an Indian and planning to move to Australia temporarily. Can I enclose Aadhaar Card as my second ID proof? I have PAN card but don’t have any other proof. Please help me and advice.

The Australian consulate awards visa under 457 visa program to temporary skilled foreign workers. It approves to stay there for four years while working and studying.

According to census of 2011, Australia is the house of 2,95,362 Indians. And 95,000 are those who have been shifted there for career and achieving higher education via 457 Visa as per The Australian. Most of them are represent the skill, experienced and highly professionals.

But recently, the outbreak of revised visa policy by Malcolm Turnbill has created shockwaves for the aspirants. It seems as the Caribbean nation is likely to follow the footsteps of the US, UK and Singapore. However, the US has scaled up the wages of the highly qualified skilled immigrant workers and also tightens the noose around the neck of US employers to employ Americans first.

Likewise, UK has also amended their validations for seeking visa. The security check certificate is made mandatory to apply for Tier 1 visa along with a few more revisions. Even, Singapore government has made ENT a must for Indians to get its visa.  And now, it’s Australia’s turn to let the India’s talent swallow bitter pills.

Let’s see what changes it has introduced in its visa policy before moving to the checklist of the documents required for 457 Visa.

Australia goes strict by visa policies

The team of Malcolm Turnbill has drafted stricter rules of visa policy to make it more robust. Let’s check which rules will take place of the oldies:

·         Prior 3-year work experience, proficiency in English and labour market testing will be compulsory for prospective immigrant workers from India.

·         The list of occupations has been cut down from 200+ occupations, like actors, pilots, butchers, flight attendants, future traders, jockeys, public relation managers, radio journalists, & web developers etc., for two years stream.

·         Besides CENOMAR to prove legal capacity, criminal check record shall be mandatory with the personal documents.

·         The two years visa will disapprove permanent residency.

·         The advertisers have to publish before filling the vacancies.

·         The short-term visa seekers have to pay $1150 while the fee for the long-term visa seeker shall be $2400.

·         The Australian employers have to pass through a non-discriminatory workforce test to ensure the government that they are not violating the rights of local workforce.

·         Training to local workforce is mandatory now.

·         The applicant’s Tax File Number & data shall be collected to tally with the Australian Tax Office’ records.

·         The age is limited to maximum of 45 years for visa applicants.

·         The salary cap to the immigrant workers shall be $53,900 per annum which will be equal to the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold.

Indeed, the Indian skills have to search out the valid sponsors who run an authorized business there. The visa holders have to provide the required documents to the employer as well as the Australian consulate. Thereby, the visa is issued post interview and attestation of applicant’s certificates.

The visa becomes invalid when the applicant’s period of visa expires or he/she ceases to work with the Australian employer. It takes around 60 days post expiry of working.
