There are no two opinions on the importance of education. While education can happen throughout our lives, it is all the more important for children. Education transforms lives. But, what also matters is the type of education that’s imparted.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation recognizes this fact that education is an important element to make a child lead a happy life. A child denied the chance to go to school, is being denied the chance a future, forget a bright future. Children are the future and we have to take all measures to ensure that the future is healthy, both physically and mentally. While healthy food ensures a physically healthy future for today’s child, education will ensure that they will also be mentally healthy.
Education is not all about studying to score well in the exams. It is really a means to discover new things which we don't know and increase our awareness about the world. Making the child well aware of his surroundings can help him/her take wise decisions.
Education, if imparted by right kind of teacher, who encourages children to think and question everything around them as education, kindles curiosity within a child.
To quote American civil rights activist, Martin Luther King Jr.: “Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” Education is the only means by which ignorance can be banished.

Facilitating access to education
Ensuring access to quality education is necessary for all children to go to school and gain education. But, ensuring good quality education imparted by good teachers can be a major factor in children getting holistic education and help in their overall personality development.
