Brighten up a child’s life with good education

There are no two opinions on the importance of education. While education can happen throughout our lives, it is all the more important for children. Education transforms lives. But, what also matters is the type of education that’s imparted.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation recognizes this fact that education is an important element to make a child lead a happy life. Kindling curiosity

Education, if imparted by right kind of teacher, who encourages children to think and question everything around them as education, kindles curiosity within a child.

To quote American civil rights activist, Martin Luther King Jr.: “Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” Education is the only means by which ignorance can be banished.

A well-informed person is an asset for the nation and an ignorant, a liability. An educated person will have a productive life.

It has been said that the function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Hence, intelligence plus character is the goal of true education.

The parliament, in its 86th Constitutional amendment which made education a fundamental right in 2002. The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, a law to enable the implementation of the Fundamental Right, came into force in 2010. Hence, every child in India has the Right to Education.

But, not all children may be in a position to get the education they desire. Many of them need to start working early to help support their families and in many cases help with the farming or such other work where they need to help out their families to carry out their trade.

Ensuring access to quality education is necessary for all children to go to school and gain education. But, ensuring good quality education imparted by good teachers can be a major factor in children getting holistic education and help in their overall personality development.
