Books for babies

by Bellus Family Helping New Parents Be Better Parents

One of the very well-known children quotes about books is:

Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.

We need to pay attention to the crystal clear image behind the bright light thrown by Emillie Buchwald at the importance of reading for youngsters. We understand that so many new-parents around the world are filled with “What are the best baby books?”, “What books to read to a newborn?” sort of puzzling questions in their heads. As always, we at Bellus decided to ease the mental burden of parents with such questions. Read through to find out why babies and books make the perfect combo!

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) began recommending parents to integrate storytime with their babies at infancy a few years ago since reading books to kids starting from birth strengthens parent-child bonding right from the beginning.

Parents have to be aware that reading with their baby while he/she is little will help her/him for the rest of her/his life since the roots of language are developing in a baby’s brain as soon as she/he is born.

Why reading for a baby is crucial explained above, we come next to the question of what books are good for a baby – The choice of books doesn’t really matter at an earlier stage as long as you are engaging with the baby and pointing at the bright pictures on the book which introduces them to different shapes and sizes without just reading at a stretch. Parents need to bear in mind that continuous reading without cooperation will only end up boring the baby. Make silly jokes in between, tickle them, kiss-cuddle them in order to keep them engaged.

Reading aloud and clear to the baby teaches them about communication, helps them with social development and thinking skills. Parents are so advised to start reading from right when the baby is about 4 months old.

If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book. – J.K Rowling

We read through and researched a stack of interesting and intriguing baby-based books after which we decided to highlight the best first three we thought would benefit in making the whole act of parenting and reading with the baby even easier for new as well as veteran parents around the world:

Look, Look! By Peter Linenthal:

The first best book for the fantastic first time of every baby beginning to look around and learn. Newborns are firstly familiar with black, white, and gray, hence, this book filled with black and white cut paper art is the perfect fit for them to stare, look at, and learn!

Feelings by Rose Colombe:

This book beautifully leads babies and toddlers to explore their emotions in the most entertaining ways possible through playful statements and interactive sentences. One other best feature about this book is that it has huge and colorful images of different animals inside.

No No Yes Yes by Leslie Patricelli:

This is a must-have especially when the babies grow up to an understanding age of distinguishing between a yes and a no! This book explains crystal clear concepts of good and bad behaviors through a comical baby language.

The above-listed three are just a few out of many other fantastic baby books. Reading is never a destination, but a journey through time in life. As your baby grows older, you may be able to get him even interesting books and novels as per his area of interest as long as you first focus on making sure his first time is the best time of developing the best habits that will help in shaping his/ her best future.
