The Hindi film industry is proud to be the biggest in the world. With more than 1000 movies being made each year, we are way ahead from Hollywood in terms of numbers. Bollywood movies have begun enjoying worldwide recognition and generating revenue in the world market.  Movies such as Bahubali 2: The Conclusion and Dangal have broken global box-office records. What’s more? There are many Bollywood actors who have won international acclaim and love across the continents.  Although it’s not new for Bollywood celebs to work in Hollywood, of late they have been making a big mark. Here are a few who hit the headlines and rank high in Hollywood news and gossip:

The actress with many hits to her credit: Deepika Padukone made headlines in Hollywood news when she bagged xXx: The Return of Xander Cage (2011), the third installment of the hit franchise. The film was a hit in the global box office and was liked by the critics and the audience. Not many people know but Deepika was also chosen to play the lead role in Fast and Furious 7 which she refused due to the clashing of dates with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’. 

The recently lost gem of Bollywood, Irfan Khan had always mesmerized the audience with his wonderful and realistic acting. One of the finest actors of Bollywood had also made waves in Hollywood after creating a stir in India. His journey to the western cinema began with ‘The Namesake’ (2006) and soon after he was seen in films such as ‘I Love You’(2008) and ‘A mighty heart’(2007).  His Hollywood journey also includes big-ticket blockbusters such as ‘Jurassic World’ (2015) and ‘The Amazing Spiderman’(2012).

Anupam Kher has done some really interesting roles in Hollywood movies. He has acted in movies such as ‘Bride and Prejudice’ and ‘Bend it like Beckham’(2002). He was also seen in the critically acclaimed ‘Silver linings playbook’(2002) alongside Bradley Copper. His latest Hollywood movie was ‘The Big Sick’ (2017).
