Black Body Calibrators From Nagman Instruments

A black body calibration source is basically used for checking the calibration of an infrared temperature sensor.  It has a heated or cooled target object whose temperature will be precisely known and it will be the basis for giving an accurate calibration of infrared pyrometers.

A black body is an ideal radiator that emits thermal both visible and infrared energy will produce an intensity at a given wavelength and temperature. It has the ability to completely absorb and emit all radiation that is extremely non-reflective and it has an emissivity value of 1.

There is no material that could make a true perfect blackbody. So, the blackbody calibration source has slightly lower emissivity than 1 but with careful design, it’s possible to get close.
