Bio Mass Industries: Possibilities and Obstacles for India
Biomass is the term associated with the material derived from plants. Bio energy is the process of converting biomass into the energy. The energy derived from the biomass could be used for different household and industrial purpose. Seeing the advantages of the bio energy India has also started to increase the efforts to harness biomass energy.
Many European countries have start harnessing the biomass energy. They mainly use the leaves and wood from the forest. These countries are widely using the raw material derived from the forest and using them for bio energy. These are mainly the developed countries and are harnessing the bio energy.
Bio energy has always been a great prospect for the future use of energy. Bio energy comes in handy when considering the power requirements for developing countries like India. The country has got tremendous prospect and could become leader in producing the bio energy. The advantage it has got is that easy availability of raw material. In case of European countries they lack the raw material require for biomass industry. This could be due to the fact that these countries locate in northern hemisphere. Environment there is not favorable for the growth of plants throughout the year. In case of India the country hugely favors the growth of plant throughout the year. Plants and their waste form the raw material for bio energy industry in India.
But instead of having the huge source of resources the country is still not in par with countries like Brazil and China. These countries have done heavy research in the field of bio energy. European countries have also invested heavily in research and development before entering in the field of bio energy. In comparison to them India does not invest heavily in the research and still new in this field. The government has to encourage the younger new generation to join the new developing industries. The younger generations too has to show the interest in this field for research and development.
The power produced by the bio energy in India is still nowhere close to the power produce by the thermal power. Majority of the electricity is produced by the thermal power plant. The alternative sources of energy like solar, wind and other forms or renewable source of energy accounts less than 8 percent energy requirements of the country. The country heavily depends on import for fuel requirements. So for country like India it is a tough road ahead if it wants to develop their biomass industry.
Agriculture waste is in abundance as India is majorly an agricultural country. It is estimated that nearly 60 to 70 percent of people are dependent on agriculture. The waste produced from the agriculture could be channelized in the right direction for maximum utilization. The biomass industry in India has got good prospect but it still has got a long way to go.
Jk Bio Energy is a prime leader in manufacturing and supplier of briquetting machines through India. In this article we have cover how the harvesting of algae can help in alternative resources.
