Benefits Of An Artificial Grass Tennis Court To Improve Your Performance In The Game

by Rory Bainton Marketing Manager
Synthetic turf has become so popular among homeowners, community centres and recreational hubs that nowadays the real grass seems to have been replaced almost completely. Artificial turf is being widely used for balconies and garden areas to give their properties a more natural and lively appearance and the credit goes to the affordable prices, very low maintenance requirements and similar results in terms of aesthetics as that of real grass.

What’s more interesting is the fact that sports centres are also openly accepting this new trend and installing synthetic tennis court turf. Apart from the above-mentioned reasons, there are certain technical benefits too due to which synthetic turf is being preferred over real grass.

Let’s explore some of these features.

1. Consistent Surface Texture: The texture of the grass used in the tennis court is of extreme importance because of the movement of both the players and the ball. This texture needs to remain the same at all levels of play. Synthetic grass aids in achieving this state because with artificial blades of grass there is no change in pile height or thickness. This keeps the surface of the tennis court consistent at all times no matter how often it is used or how extreme the Australian weather conditions are. This helps players avoid injuries and improve their performance.

2. Uniform Bounce and Ball Play: The uniformity and consistency offered by the synthetic tennis court turfs play a crucial role in determining the performance of the ball on the court surface. The factor that how well the ball bounces on the surface helps players construct their game strategies for each shot and gives them greater control of the ball to keep it in play. This makes the whole game of tennis more interesting and enhances the player’s skill ad performance.

3. Lines Won’t Fade of Smear: The lines marked on the tennis court are made by applying paint or powder on the natural grass. Rigorous use and harsh weather conditions like extreme heat can make these lines fade, smear or shift away during the game which needs to be painted repeatedly in each game as keeping these lines intact through each game are of utmost importance. However, this is not the case with synthetic grass.

4. No Signs Of Wear and Tear: Constant movement of players on the grass like stopping, running, turning and skidding begins to weaken the natural grass and with time it wears off and dry patches are formed. This deteriorates the quality of the surface and affects the performance of players and the ball. Also, players become more susceptible to tripping or injuries like ankle twists due to these imperfections. All these issues are significantly reduced with artificial grass tennis courts.

Apart from all these technical benefits, tennis courts, artificial turf maintenance is also a piece of cake. Simply washing with a water hose is all that it requires to keep it shining like brand new for a long time. With so many advantages and the least maintenance, synthetic tennis courts are going to be a great investment with only returns and no loss.
