Apple Pro Display XDR with nano texture glass cannot be cleaned even with water

The Apple Pro Display XDR designed to be combined with the new Mac Pro can be ordered with standard glass or by adding a special nanotexture glass (+ € 1,000), which "maintains the contrast and diffuses the light to reduce the reflexes to the absolute minimum ”.

In this regard, Cupertino published a note in the Support section of its website that explains how to clean the two different glasses.

For the standard one you can use the cloth supplied by Apple or one in microfilma, and if I need to remove stains, you can wet the cloth with a little water.

The nanotexture glass cleaning procedure requires much more attention. In fact, it is possible to use only the special cloth, it is not possible to use any other microfilma cloth or other material, and you cannot even use a bit of water.

If the special cloth is lost, contact Apple assistance to receive another one.

Cupertino also explains how to clean this cloth:

1 Wash the cloth by hand with dish soap and water.

2. Rinse thoroughly.

3. Allow the cloth to dry for at least 24 hours.
