An iPhone can be blocked with a malicious iMessage

by UAE Technicianae We Repair and Diagnose any computer problem

The ability to block an iPhone using a malicious iMessage was already known, but this time all those running iOS 10 and 11 are affected.

Until Apple finds a solution, vigilance remains the only way to escape overheating and damage.

iMessage: a new type of SMS that can be used to crash your iPhone

While the giant with the apple just out the head out of the water following the record on the voluntary obsolescence of iPhones, another big problem comes to disrupt the business of Apple. It appears indeed that a weakness affects these smartphones when they work under versions 10 and 11 of iOS.

The case is simple but the problematic consequences, a blocking being easy to provoke by means of a simple iMessage. It is enough that the attacker sends a particular SMS to his target which, once opened, causes the crash of the smartphone.

Among other effects, the iPhone victim crash is greatly slowed down and subject to constant overheating that can cause irreversible damage that jeopardizes the very operation of the smartphone.

Save your iPhone from this malicious link

The novelty does not lie here in this ability to plant an iPhone, but in the fact that all those running iOS 10 and 11 are concerned. This represents a large number of smartphones, potentially out of use in case of massive spam.

However, it is possible, by being cautious when opening your iMessages and properly setting up your device, to escape the malware. The most important security remains to temporarily disable your iMessages and not to click blindly on the links received.

In case of infection despite these precautions, a solution exists to repair your iPhone, but it involves a reset of some files including the loss of all of your messages. Vigilance is therefore appropriate, while waiting, Apple has no solution for the time to offer users.
