All you need to know about the NEET Exam

  • As the current scenario of the career field is changing and with the increase in competition for the achievement of one’s dream, the level of conducting the examination has upgraded to a level wherein everyone is going through the grind to reserve a seat for themselves in a more intellectual way. 


  • Students think of appearing for exams conducted by the government as it is a fact of the matter that it the private institute seats are not affordable. There are various such exams conducted by the Government of India such as NEET for Medical, JEE for Engineering, UPSC, IPS, IAS etc. These all are conducted at national level so that the students can have a broad scope for getting the seat of their dreams for which they have worked for. One such examination is NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test).


What is NEET Exam?

  • NEET known as National Eligibility Entrance Test. This NEET Exam is the toughest Medical Exam which is specially conducted by NTA( National Testing Agency)  every year for the students who wish to study UG-Medical Courses.

 
  • This exam was started in the year 2013 which is the succession of AIPMT (ALL INDIA PRE-MEDICAL TEST). This exam is conducted at the National level where lakhs of students appear for it.


ABOUT THE NEET Exam


  •  It is an exam which is a total of 720 marks comprising the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology(Botany and Zoology) where each subject is accorded with 180 marks and Biology is accorded with 360 marks.


  • This exam is conducted every year. Earlier the state governments used to conduct CET(Common Entrance Test) exams through which once the student gets qualified then he gets an entry to the Medical Colleges but now that system has been removed and exam has been centralized.


  • One can apply for this exam by reaching out the official website named www.ntc.ac.in. This exam is conducted in the offline mode, once a year mostly in the month of May. The duration of this exam is 3 hours.This exam consists of MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions)  and marking scheme is negative marking wherein each question is accorded with 4 marks and for every wong answered question there is a negative marking of -1. Students who desire to get seats for MBBS, BDS and other Medicine related courses can appear for this exam. One can select their own choice of language as per their need as the paper is printed in 11 regional languages.


  • A student who wishes to appear for this exam has to fill the form through the official website of the NTA which gets released every year mostly through which the Admit Card is received.
