Aishwarya Rai Triumphs at Life Ball Gala: Ash’s Shimmery Mermaid Gown Silences Critics

Aishwarya Rai wore a number of different outfits at Cannes 2013, some Indian and some western.

It seems like she was widely praised for her western style outfits and criticized for more conventional Indian looks.

As far as her latest ensemble at the Life Ball Gala goes, we think that Rai was a knockout in this clinging Roberto Cavalli number which shows exactly how much weight the former Miss World has lost in the past year and half.

We can't wait for Rai to make her comeback in films, hopefully this year. We hear that she has been considering a number of projects, including Farah Khan's "Happy New Year" and an as yet unnamed movie with Ranbir Kapoor.

However, all these hints circulating about Rai's comeback have just proved to be rumors so far, and nothing is for certain.

Still, we're enjoying the 39-year-old actress' array of styles while she sojourns in Europe.

And baby Aaradhya has also been looking cute in her little red and white ensembles as she accompanies her glamorous mother.

OneIndia Entertainment agreed that Rai looked wondering in this gown, saying, "Slimmer Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was looking stunning in her blue gown designed by Roberto Cavalli himself."

Another of our favorite outfits on Rai was the blue Armani Privé one-shouldered gown that she wore at Cannes. Looks like Rai has a thing for blue outfits of late!
