Ad-Aware Uninstall Guide - Complete Removal

Wonder how to uninstall Ad-Aware completely? Fail to remove the program via add/remove programs? Wish to clean all the junk files and registry entries of the program that has been removed? If so, read on and follow the guide in this post to remove Ad-Aware thoroughly from the computer.
What is Ad-Aware?
Ad-Aware is an antivirus and adware removal tool that scans your memory, registry, hard, removable and optical drives for known data-mining, aggressive advertising, and tracking components. It then lists the results and offers to remove or quarantine the components.
The free version offers basic real-time protection and automatic updates but has most other features disabled. You can upgrade to an optional Pro version, which offers additional email, web and network protection.
How to uninstall Ad-Aware?
Window 10
Open the Settings menu (Start > Settings) and go to System and then click Apps & features. Here, you’ll see a list of the apps and programs on your PC, sorted by size. You can use the search box at the top of the screen to search for apps, and you can resort the list by name or by install date.
Find Ad-Aware, click it, and then click Uninstall. Hit Uninstall to confirm (you may also see a pop-up asking if you want to let this program make changes to your computer, hit Yes to proceed).
With the dialog box displayed, click Remove to proceed.
With the message box displayed, confirm your decision to uninstall the program by clicking Yes.

To complete the uninstalling process, click Reboot Now.
 
Windows 8
Hover the cursor in the bottom-left corner of the screen until a small image of the Start Screen appears, then right-click on the icon to open the Start Context Menu. Select Programs and Features.
Select Ad-Aware and click Uninstall to remove it.
With the dialog box displayed, click Remove to proceed.
With the message box displayed, confirm your decision to uninstall the program by clicking Yes.

To complete the uninstalling process, click Reboot Now.
Windows 7
Click on Start button and then click on Control Panel.
Click on Programs and Features (View by: Large icons) or Click on Uninstall a program under Programs category (View by: Category).
Find the antivirus software from the list of installed programs, select it and then click on Uninstall button.
Follow the instructions on the screen to completely remove it.
Another ways to remove Ad-Aware:

1. Click “uninstall Ad-Aware” in the lavasoft folder of your start menu
2. If it does not work, open your control panel, click add/remove programs and locate Ad-Aware SE
3. If it still does not work, locate and run (double-click) the file “unwise.exe” (the .exe might not be shown). It should be found in C:\program files\lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE [Personal/Plus/Professional]\

If that does not work, or if you get a message saying something like “Can’t find Install.log,” perform a manual uninstall, which is not a very difficult procedure. Do the following:

1. Click on “my computer” and navigate to your Lavasoft Ad-Aware folder (C:\program files\lavasoft\ad-aware \
2. Run the file unregaaw.exe
3. Delete the entire ad-aware folder
4. Delete your Lavasoft Ad-Aware link in your start menu (if present)
5. Delete the Ad-Aware icon(s) from your desktop(if present)
6. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Lavasoft and delete the entire Lavasoft folder.
7. Empty your trash bin
8. Reboot.
