About Activated Alumina Balls:

Activated Alumina is a bead of aluminum oxide which is made up of porous structure and consists of a high surface of area-to-mass ratio. It has several applications comprise of gas drying and air. In the use of gas drying and compressed air, activated alumina reaches the dew points -40 degree F to -100 degree F, depending on the design of the degree. Activated alumina balls which are used in chemical industries are mainly used for the treatment of ores and other works by making the balls highly absorptive and porous. Activated alumina in air drying has a large surface area which increases the capability to work as a desiccant, absorbent and the carrier of catalyst. In many industrial zones, activated alumina is used on a large quantity. Apart from purifying and absorbing moisture, it is also used in dehydrating many other ingredients and packed items. It is potent enough to separate gases and liquids. The other features of air drying activated alumina are highly useful in many industries. The size of the pore is generally bigger in comparison to other popular desiccants. Owing to the pore size, they have substituted zeolite in countless applications as far as removing moisture from a specific environment is concerned.

Activated alumina is generally formed and manufactured by Desiccan Chemicals which is a supreme quality absorbent or desiccant. Activated alumina is manufactured with the help of latest technology in order to acquire the high-quality properties such as surface area, adsorption, pore volume and mechanical strength.

Features And Benefits Of Alumina Balls:

High adsorption capacity helps to reduce the initial cost, consumption of energy and operating low costs abrasion in order to ensure the minimal dusting and a low-pressure drop resistant to liquid water, which results from the failure of up-stream after-coolers, drain traps and separators. The adsorption capacity of the desiccant is restored after the completion of regeneration. High crush strength is used for the limitation of dusting at the time of loading the desiccant into dryer towers, the uniform bead size reduces the drop in pressure and makes sure to utilize the full desiccant bed in regenerative drying systems. Van air activated alumina beds are used for a lifespan of 2-5 years which are further available in 251lb pails, 375lb steel drums and 2000lb bulk bags, respectively.

The positive sides of Activated Alumina Balls are as follows:

A) It is non-corrosive in nature.

B) It is easy to handle.

C) It has the stability of high temperature.

D) It is low resistant to the flow of gas.

E) It has a great mechanical strength.

Applications:

A) Alumina Balls remove many impurities from the gas stream and help in maintaining the uniform distribution of the feed gas.

B) It is applied in the chemical industry.

C) It is also used in oil refineries and in the manufacture of oil industries.
