About DBCO TAMRA
There are a lot of staining dyes that are made available by the
scientists. These dyes play a significant role in making the
biomolecules labelled. The labelling of biomolecules is essential
because it makes it easier for the chemist to locate and detect the
proteins that are to be used. Moreover, all dyes differ in qualities
from other dyes. Every cell has to stain using a special group of dyes
so that no adverse reactions may take place. DBCO TAMRA is one of the
dyes that is used for the labelling purposes. Mostly it is available in
powder for. The powder form is very advantageous because the powder can
be dissolved in any type of solvent.
Storage Temperature
For
the labelling chemicals, it’s essential that they are stored under
optimum conditions. If they are not stored in optimum conditions and
under controlled temperature then there is a risk that the might react
with the surrounding elements or substances and cause serious damage.
Therefore, it is necessary that these chemicals are stored under
controlled temperature and controlled conditions. The optimum
temperature for storing the DBCO TAMRA is up to -20 degree Celsius.
Solubility of the Dye
The
solubility of the dye is another factor that you need to consider
before staining the biomolecules. There are different types of solvents
in which the dyes can be dissolved. These are polar and non-polar
solvents. The compounds made largely of organic compounds are dissolved
in polar solvents. The DBCO TAMRA is soluble in organic solvents like
DMSO, DMF.
Chemoselectivity
The
Chemoselectivity and Biocompatibility are the two factors mainly
responsible for the dye to work properly. Chemo Selectivity is the
property of the dye to react with different solutes and solvents. The
DBCO TAMRA reacts with only those chemicals that have a high efficiency
for the reaction. Otherwise, it remains stable during the whole
procedure but you should take care while the labelling process is being
carried out.
Biocompatibility
Biocompatibility
is the term that is related to the composition of the dye. Some dyes
don’t work properly if not treated with some kind of chemicals. Some
chemicals need certain reagents and solvents for their proper working.
The DBCO TAMRA is one the best dues that is biocompatible. It does not
require other chemicals and reagents to make it work properly.
Reaction of DBCO TAMRA
The
TAMRA dyes and labels easily react with the azides. Their reaction is
called as the copper free reaction. As a result, of the reaction, a
stable triazole is formed. The reaction does not require the Cu-
Catalyst to take part in the reaction. The dye gives high shades in the
backgrounds so the permeable cells must not be stained.
Staining the Intracellular components
The
DBCO TAMRA is not suitable for staining the intracellular components.
The cells that have a higher degree of permeability are not advisable to
be stained with this dye because it can make higher backgrounds that
are not useful for the chemists. The intracellular components are kept
safe from staining.
