by Ankita Sehgal Freelance Blogger, Lives in New Delhi
Let’s admit it—Marriages are a gala affair in India and for a bride, it is an overwhelming time that leaves her with beautiful memories that she can cherish for a lifetime. Amid the pressure of celebrations, looking picture perfect and having mixed feelings about starting a new life; she is also the one who is always in the limelight.

If you are thinking that all attention will turn away from you as soon as you are done with all the wedding ceremonies then you are very much wrong! As you enter your new home with a whirlwind of emotions, most eyes will be glued on you. After all, you are the newly wed bride! Since you are going to start a new phase of life then why not do it fashionably right!

Here we line-up a post-wedding trousseau to impress your in-laws and husband when you finally enter a new home.

Go for Chic and Comfortable Clothes

Be prepared to attend a lot of formal brunches, family gatherings, and of course, some exquisite romantic date nights with your husband during the first two months of marriage. Carry yourself with poise during all these semi-formal events. Get your hands-on pastel hues of pink, mustard yellow, and off-white and make sure to ditch those overzealous bright colored outfits. For those exclusive romantic date nights with your husband, get dressed in a chiffon sleeveless midi gown in sage green or off-white with minimal accessorizing.

Pay Attention to Accessorizing

As you prepare yourself for an array of functions after marriage, make sure you give due importance to accessorizing to don a perfect ladylike look. Those chunky large earrings that you wore with your bridal gown are a complete NO! NO! Something subtle and light is the right choice. For an evening event accessorize with silver or white gold-plated drop earring preferably in Meenakari work with highlighted eye makeup. For day brunches, go absolutely light on makeup and wear earrings with floral motifs and stone edge detailing. If you are too confused, we suggest you check out jewelers in Delhi as they have a vast variety of options that you can pick from.

Layer-it up

If you are somebody who likes to add a touch of bling to almost every outfit then stoles, dupattas, and jackets with detailed designing and pastel hues are your refuge. For an afternoon brunch, put on the jacket with well-embroidered floral motifs to shine like sunshine. Stoles and dupattas are more apt for evening events. Layering is an easy-to-do option to jazz up the entire look, provided it is done in keeping with the right color combination.
