Hanging Gardens:

The Hanging Gardens are formally called Ferozeshah Mehta Gardens, celebrating a famous lawyer and politician who had accepted a Knighthood. Designed in 1880, the gardens stand on the side of Malabar Hills on terraces above the city reservoirs.

Mani Bhavan:

The famous Mani Bhavan of Mumbai is known for housing Mahatma Gandhi during the Indian freedom struggle from 1917 to 1934. Located on Laburnam Road near Wilson College, the Bhavan is among the most significant memorials associated with the Mahatma. 

From this bhavan, Mahatma directed the movements like Non-Cooperation movement, Swadeshi and Khilafat movement. Besides being a memorial, the monument is also recognized as a research institute in Gandhian thought and rural development for doctoral students. 

Elephanta Caves:

Famous for its caves and sculptures of Hindu deities, the Elephanta Caves are located on an island Gharapuri, off the Mumbai coast. Known as one of the world's heritage site, the identity of the creators of these caves is still shrouded in mystery.

This island is just nine miles away from the famous Gateway of India. The Caves were first recognized by the Portuguese when they saw statue of an elephant on the island. The statues of Parvati, Lord Shiva, Ravana are masterpieces of great art and culture.
