Most students have a hard time staying completely updated on the latest techniques and trends regarding social media.  This is because of the continuous changes happening in the industry.  However, the significance of creating a great post for social media should not be ignored for any reason.

To draw the attention of followers, fans, and friends, students need to learn how to create the best posts.  The posts can be short or long, and each has its own advantage and impact.  These are 9 tips to easily help students create their perfect post for social media.

1.  Longer Posts

Most students shy away from creating the longer posts thinking it’ll take a lot of their time and are more difficult to write.  However, they shouldn’t ignore the impact these can have on their readers and followers.  It’s ideal because students can go into more detail and say much more.  They can really communicate their unique point, backed up by their expertise, and be positioned as an expert.

2. Shorter Posts

Also, it’s just as important to craft shorter posts that are more direct.  These are very important for Facebook, Google+, and Twitter.  It has to be direct and with quality because there are only a few words to tell about the issue.

3. Worthy to Share

Whether it’s a long or shorter post, students need to know that it has to be worthy for sharing.  If followers, friends, and fans think the post has valuable content, they’ll share, and it will increase the post’s value.

4. Focus on the Purpose

Students need to keep in mind the purpose of the post while they’re creating it.  They need to understand how their audience will respond to the post.  The post has to have valuable content to let the readers know that the student cares about those who read it.

5. Headlines Must Be Eye-Catching

Headlines that stand out to the audience are always clicked more often.  There are five basic headlines and students should choose one, or maybe combine two of them, to write catchy titles.  They are:

Goals – News – How to – Entertainment – Problem

The headline needs to make the reader curious as it catches their eye.

6. Paint the Whole Picture

It’s very discouraging for readers when they are inspired by the first part of the post, but the details are left out.  Students need to give all of the details, so readers don’t have to scroll and try finding them.  If there are questions raised in the content, the student needs to answer them.

7. Provide a Point of View That’s Different

Students may write about a new concept or talk about old issues.  However, they need to come at it from another angle so readers can see a different point of view.  It may be a little harder to do this, but it just takes time to explore new concepts.

8. Format for Engagement

Students should always present their content, so it’s highly viewed.  It needs to have sub-headings and bullet points instead of being plain text.  Without being formatted correctly, it loses the ability to be scanned so most readers will skip it and move on.

9. Images that are High Quality

When creating the longer post, it’s important to use photos, graphics, and screenshots.  Just make certain they are of high quality and relevant to the content.  These visuals will easily engage the readers.

In Conclusion

Most students strive to gain more attention on social media and with the tips shown above, they’ll see more success from their posts on the social media networks.
