The Toyota bB is a mini Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) that has been in production since 2000, starting with its first generation from 2000 to 2005, produced solely for the Japanese market as a 3-door coupe utility. Following this, Toyota expanded the model to include 5-door hatchbacks. The second generation was manufactured from 2005 to 2016 by Daihatsu, a subsidiary of Toyota. The vehicle features a front-engine and front-wheel drive configuration, boasting efficient fuel consumption of approximately 100 km per 10 liters. As part of the NCP3 generation, the bB is closely linked with the Toyota Vitz XP10 and is built on the widely utilized Toyota Platz platform, which is also shared with models like the Vitz, Ist, and Platz.

The Toyota bB is available with two engine options: the 2NZ-FE 1.3-liter engine or the 1NZ-FE 1.5-liter engine, both of which utilize a 4-speed automatic transmission. The power output ranges from 65 to 81 kW (87 to 110 hp), allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 10 to 16.4 seconds. Additionally, the bB is offered in both 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive configurations, making it versatile for different driving conditions while ensuring modern onboard facilities that enhance comfort for family usage.

Interior & Exterior

The interior design of the Toyota bB is characterized as unique, spacious, and visually appealing, resembling that of the Platz rather than the Toyota Vitz. It is constructed with high-quality materials, and offers adequate space in the driver’s and passenger’s areas, ensuring comfort even for taller individuals. The Toyota bB features a distinctive box-like exterior design, characterized by a spacious interior and a front grille complemented by angular headlamps that enhance the vehicle's wider appearance. It includes comfort features such as fog lights, 15-inch tires, and alloy rims, emphasizing both style and utility.

Extra Features

Other features and Safety Features include a sunroof, auxiliary inputs, USB connectivity, Bluetooth, a DVD player, and cruise control, along with air conditioning and a navigator system. Safety features encompass a 3-point seat belt, electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), SRS airbags, and emergency brake assist. The Toyota bB encompasses various storage options, including a glove compartment, a pocket behind the seat, a cardholder, and a coin holder, all designed for item organization. In the driver's area, the vehicle features a center-console along with two cup-holders. For passengers, there are additional seat pockets and another set of two cup-holders. However, the boot space is relatively limited compared to other mini MPVs, accommodating only small to medium-sized luggage.

Fuel Consumption

The Toyota bB has a fuel tank capacity ranging from 40 to 45 litres, with a fuel consumption rate of 10 litres per 100 km. Its 1NZ-FE 1.5-litre engine allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a time frame between 10 to 16.4 seconds.

 Finally

The Toyota bB stands out for its unique design, spacious interior, and proven Toyota reliability. It’s a practical and stylish choice for daily use, though not built for speed or sporty driving. Overall, it’s a dependable and distinctive compact car that suits those who value comfort, creativity, and individuality on the road.
