What is the Initiative?

State Support Mission (SSM)

  • This program was announced in the 2023-24 Budget.
  • It helps NITI Aayog and states work closely to develop growth plans.
  • States can create their own strategies while following national goals.

Setting Up Development Institutions

  • NITI Aayog is asking states to create State Institutions for Transformation (SIT).
  • These will help states make better policies and plans.
  • So far, 26 SITs have been created to improve governance and development.
