NITI Aayog’s Plan for a Developed India by 2047
What is the Initiative?
- NITI Aayog is helping several states create vision documents for a Developed India (Viksit Bharat) by 2047.
- This plan includes Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh.
- Special teams in NITI Aayog are guiding these states in making strong development strategies.
Why Was This Started?
- PM Narendra Modi spoke about the need for Developed States in a meeting.
- He said that India’s growth depends on every state’s progress.
- This plan will help states improve their economy, governance, and quality of life.
Goals of the Plan
- Help states grow in all areas, not just the economy.
- Improve governance and make people’s lives better.
- Ensure states and the central government work together for progress.
State Support Mission (SSM)
- This program was announced in the 2023-24 Budget.
- It helps NITI Aayog and states work closely to develop growth plans.
- States can create their own strategies while following national goals.
Setting Up Development Institutions
- NITI Aayog is asking states to create State Institutions for Transformation (SIT).
- These will help states make better policies and plans.
- So far, 26 SITs have been created to improve governance and development.
This initiative will make states stronger, helping India become a developed nation by 2047.
