A historic city that’s always associated with its famous university, there’s a vast variety of activities to do and places to see in Cambridge. There are thousands of tourists visiting Cambridge each year, and with the amount of quantity and quality present in the city, a visitor can be occupied for days on end and still not see everything. It’s a wonderful place that’s worthy of more than one visit and is quite unforgettable.

King’s College

A beautiful and picturesque location, with even more amazing surroundings, the King’s College has a huge expanse of lawn that extends to the river and the Kind’s Bridge. The grounds around the river combined with the view of the Backs are considered the reasons enough to visit this place, let alone its crowning jewel – the Kind’s College Chapel. Spectacular 16th-century architecture and decorations, here you can hear the world-renowned King’s College Choir in action.

Cambridge University Botanical Garden

A place that will feel like heaven for anyone interested in plants or garden-related things, this botanical garden is a must-see. Sporting an area of around 40 acres, it houses a vast collection of over 8000 species of plants that have been brought there from all across the world. You will feel amazed when wandering around in its many glasshouses and trails, as well as take part of a guided tour that’s free on Sundays. It’s a destination that will truly resonate with anyone.




The Fitzwilliam Museum

One of the most famous museums in the area, it’s a place that everyone considers a must-see in Cambridge. It’s not only beautiful to look at from the outside, as its architecture is absolutely stunning, but it also has an enormous collection of various antiques. Inside you’ll find antiquities from different eras from history, like from ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt, but also more modern works of art, such as from artists like Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Hogarth, and many more.

The Eagle

If you feel a bit tired from walking around and experiencing the city first-hand, then you might want to take a rest at the famous pub called the Eagle. It not only feels like living history, but you can also cool down with a drink too. It’s a great place, as it comes with a genuine feeling that can’t be found anywhere else; it includes an RAF bar that’s covered with graffiti from the Second World War all over its ceilings and walls. It’s just one of the many fantastic party venues Cambridge has.

Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology

An excellent place of education, this museum was developed by Cambridge University in the early 19th century, and it houses a fascinating collection of materials from the prehistoric era, as well as artefacts about social anthropology. Its collection comes from all around the globe, like Africa and the Orient, but the Pacific collection is of a particular interest because it has items that have been taken by the famous Captain James Cook.
