It is often said that pregnancy is the most beautiful phase of a woman’s life and indeed it is but this is also accompanied by several physical changes. Pregnancy invites various hormonal imbalances that cause irritation and stress and that’s why women become extremely sensitive during this time. You do not have to get alarmed because of these issues as they are quite common and do not cause any harm to you or your baby.

Here are 5 problems that you will encounter during your pregnancy period.

Morning sickness

Morning sickness is an early-stage pregnancy symptom. It is caused due to the hormonal imbalances in the body and goes away by the end of the first three months of the pregnancy period. Although it is known as morning sickness, nausea can happen at any time of the day. Morning sickness does not possess any immediate threat to the unborn baby. However, severe and on-going vomiting may require medical attention.

Constipation

Constipation is a common issue among pregnant women. It is due to all the hormonal imbalances in the body. Often you have to put more strain and may not be able to completely empty your bowels. It may also cause your stool to become unusually large, lumpy or small. To avoid constipation, add a lot of fluid to your diet. Drink at least eight to ten glasses of water each day and also drink fruit juices, shakes, coconut water, etc.

Backache

Back pain is a common problem encountered by every woman during their pregnancy stage. Pregnancy makes the ligaments in your body softer to prepare for labour. This can put strain on different joints in the body like your back and pelvis that results in back pain. The extra weight of the uterus also adds up to the pain. To cope with the pain avoid lifting heavy objects, strenuous movements, and standing for a prolonged period of time.

Exhaustion

Feeling exhausted is quite common during pregnancy. Some women are even prone to fainting due to the hormonal changes. It happens when the brain does not receive enough blood and there is insufficient oxygen supply. Try to avoid standing up too quickly from a chair or bed or lying on your back.

Leg Cramps

Leg cramps are normal but very uncomfortable. Cramps are basically a sharp and sudden pain in the calf muscle or feet. They occur when suddenly a muscle contract very tightly. It can happen multiple times and is quite common during the late pregnancy period. Cramps occur during pregnancy when you carry extra weight, there is a change in your metabolism, or you are having a vitamin deficiency.
