With gorgeous weather all year around, and ideally situated directly on the Atlantic - minutes from Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and even The Everglades - Hallandale Beach has been a top tourist destination for years. Populated with glamorous hotels and luxury high rise apartments, Hallandale Beach, FL, is popular both as a place to live and as a place to visit. But besides the sun and sea, what else is there to do there? Here are a few suggestions.

1. Horse Races at Gulfstream Park

Few things are as exciting as spending a day in the sun watching gorgeous thoroughbreds strut their stuff. It's even more exciting when there's a little money on the line. As one of the premiere horse racing venues in the country, Gulfstream Park is home to exciting horse racing all through the spring and summer. Be sure to finish off a day at the races with dinner and drinks at one of the several terrific restaurants in the facility.

2. Mardi Gras Casino

With an enormous gaming floor, the Mardi Gras Casino has over 900 slot machines and dozens of tables. It's also been the site of greyhound races since 1934. So if you didn't have any luck at Gulfstream Park, you can make up for it with a trip to Mardi Gras.

3. A Day With the Kids at Joseph Scavo Park

A primo destination for any sunny day, it's made perfect because it's so dog and kid friendly. With tons of space, and two dog walks, it's a very popular spot to bring the pooches for a little outdoor adventure. There are also several playgrounds for your two legged children, and so many lovely places to play, walk, or just lie around, there's always something to do and something to see.

4. Diplomat Golf and Tennis Club

A luxury golf and tennis club, the facilities are nothing short of spectacular. While it ain't cheap, the prices do fluctuate, so it's not always expensive as it might seem. And with a stunning golf course, and 10 clay tennis courts, it's definitely the place to be if you want to work on your game.

5. Take a Gondola Tour of Ft. Lauderdale

Gondola West cruises take you in 6-person gondolas, on a 1.5 hour tour of Ft. Lauderdale's gorgeous canals. Quiet and romantic, it's a magical way to explore the many ins and outs of what's known as the Venice of America.

Whether you're just stopping by for a weekend to visit, or looking into purchasing a luxury high rise apartment, Hallandale Beach, FL, offers something for everyone.
