4 Tools Henna Artists Use Henna & Mehndi Art.
by Amit Negi Digital Marketing ExpertI'm Lisa Butterworth's, sometimes
known as Kenzie, and I am an artist and owner of a Mehndi supply business, findmetop
dot com. Today I'll unleash your inner Mehndi
Artist or Mehendi
Wala and have you drawing Mehndi
designs all over your friends and anyone else who will sit still.
There are a lot of tools that you
can use to do Henno with, and you can try them all and see which you like best
in South Asia, which is India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and a lot of the Middle
East, they use a plastic comb. In India, milk comes in bags. And so a lot of
the heads of artists in India use that plastic milk bag to make cones out of
here. In the West, we use Mylar wrapping paper, which is what I have here. You
can also use the plastic that comes wrapped around flowers and you can also use
salad bags or chip bags. So that's one of the tools that you can use in
Morocco. They use the syringe. They actually have special Bridal
Mehndi syringes and they mix their head and paste a little bit thinner and
they mix it in a little tea glass and then use the syringe to suck the Mehndi up.
And then when they Mehndi, they depress the plunger in the Mehndi just kind of
flows. So they have to work really fast to keep up with the flow of the hand.
What I use and what a lot of artists in the West use is something called the
Jaccard bottle. This is a Jaccard bottle that's full of Mehndi with a tip on
this bottle has a cap that screws on and off, which is really handy for keeping
the paste from getting all over your stuff when you're just storing the bottle
like in your bag. And then it has this little plastic tip that pops out and
pops in. So you pop it out to fill up the bottle with Mehndi paste and then you
pop it back in very easily and then you just screw on these little metal tips.
And the metal tips come in three different sizes, small, medium and large. And
I like to use the medium one for most of my work. And again, these are called
Jaccard Bottle.
