Living in an apartment isn’t always picnic, especially when you have to deal with inexplicably unexplainable phenomenon.

I mean noisy neighbors, horrible landlords, and landlords that prevent you from owning your apartment.

At office it takes 7 lines of code or 5 seconds of holding down that button, or direct unplugging.

Not in real life.

And so, here are the top three tips that you can use to live happily in your apartment.

#1: Establish and Cultivate a Relationship with the Landlord

Many people forget to do that, and it is understandable.

I mean…

Your whole day is spent thinking about the best ways to empower a computer with the right software, so that it delivers the required/expected/needed results.

I understand that.

At times you have to go beyond working with computers, traumatizing the poor thing because bug, because lengthy trouble shooting, and because “results un-found”.

I understand that too.

However, you cannot expect people (least of all your landlord) to respond as linearly and logically as your go-to machine and life’s work.

Building relations with them is simple:

·         Start by documenting everything before moving in

·         Inform them if you’re bringing something new to the apartment

·         Make small changes, taking their consent when making them in the apartment

They have a job role. It’s called caretaking of the apartment, and these small things will go a long way in making it easier to live freely.

#2 Ease Roommate Tension

If you’ll be living with roommates, plan in advance. Know that you’ll definitely have the following two problems:

1.       Dividing expenses

2.       Sharing close quarter living space

Resolve them beforehand by setting the ground rules.

#3 Dealing with Noisy Neighbors

Your neighbors are not separated by a fence, hedges, and several feet of walk space. They’re most likely separated by a wall. It often feels paper thin, and if your neighbors (both sides, above and below) are prone to late night dance binges, or loud music and lovemaking then you must:

·         Avoid thinking of hacking into every known account they have, and achieve this by

·         Having a friendly conversation with them, and later

·         Talking with the management

All the best!
