2016 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid Outshines Competition

The RLX uses three electric motors in addition to a traditional V6 engine, one electric motor in the front and two in the back. The car can run on gas or electric power using either front or rear-wheel drive, respectively, or all-wheel drive using Acura’s excellent Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system.

The car’s gasoline engine combines 310 horsepower with 273 pound-feet of torque. The front electric motor adds 47 hp and 109 pound-feet of toque, while the back electric motors add 36 hp and 54 pound-feet of torque each.

Interior Luxury

The RLX Sport Hybrid’s interior reminds you that you’re driving a luxury vehicle, not just any old hybrid. Milano leather seats and plenty of interior cabin space make for a comfortable ride, in addition to a host of other features. Fully customized climate control, a split-screen navigation display and the Surround View camera are only a few of the RLX’s many features.

The new RLX features the responsive handling you’ve grown to expect from Acura cars. There’s plenty of power underneath the gas pedal, and the car corners likes a dream. With each wheel equipped with its own electric motor, the car turns briskly and evenly in corners, despite its weight.
