2 Appetizers You Can Make at Home Using Cheese

by Rob J. Quality Links

Whether you're hosting a house party or a backyard barbecue with your friends, cheese is the perfect food to serve so your guests won't be hungry while waiting for the main dishes. Here are some appetizers you can make at home:

Bacon-Wrapped Mozzarella Sticks

This recipe mixes 2 delicious foods: bacon and cheese. The thought of combining these two mouthwatering ingredients into one dish alone can stimulate your appetite. Here's how you can make it:

Ingredients:

·        12 sticks of mozzarella

·        12 slices of bacon

·        2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning

Directions:

1.      Unwrap the mozzarella and place it on a plate or a small baking sheet.

2.      Freeze it for 4 hours or until it’s solid. You can leave it there overnight.

3.      Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F, and line a medium baking sheet with foil.

4.      Place the slices of bacon on the sheet and into the oven and sprinkle them with Italian seasoning. Bake them for 12 to 15 minutes or until they're slightly crisp but still bendable.

5.      Wrap the frozen sticks with 1 strip of bacon and place them inside the oven again for 5 to 7 minutes or until they’re just starting to melt.

6.       Put them on a plate and serve.

You can pair them with dips, such as marinara sauce or ketchup, to make them even tastier. If you don't have the main ingredients at home, you can search online for shops that sell the best-frozen cheese sticks.

Mini Wonton Quesadillas

Quesadillas have always been a crowd-pleaser. But, if you turn them into crunchy little finger foods stuffed with a ton of deliciousness, they'll be your new go-to appetizer. Here's how you can make a miniature version of this dish.

Ingredients:

·        1/4 cup of refried beans

·        1/4 teaspoon of ground cumin

·        1/4 teaspoon of ground coriander

·        1/8 teaspoon of ground red pepper

·        1 cup of shredded Mexican cheese blend

·        12 round wonton wrappers

·        1 teaspoon of vegetable oil

·        2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro leaves

Directions:

1.      Mix the beans, cumin, coriander, and red pepper in a small bowl. Then, add and stir in the cheese.

2.      Divide the mixture evenly among the wonton wrappers. Spread it over half of each covering. Then, fold them to form the quesadillas.

3.      Put oil in a non-stick skillet and heat it over medium. Place the quesadillas into the pan and fry them until they turn golden brown.

4.      Transfer them to a serving platter and top them with cilantro leaves.

The filling can be made up to 4 hours before you cook it. Make sure that it's covered and refrigerated until you assemble the quesadillas. You can serve this dish with salsa, green onions, and sour cream if you want to give it a little bit of nacho flair.

These are some appetizers you can make at home using cheese. If you want to keep things simple, you can always buy frozen premade products, such as Farm Rich cheese sticks. Just fry them in a pan until they're golden brown and serve them with dips before the main course.
