You can't want it for me!
Let me ask you a question, how many sign ups do you have that have signed up to do nothing? Frustrating isn't it? But the truth is no matter how much you want for someone else, it doesn't work.
Let me give you a very sad real life example. Addicts. It does not matter what they are addicted to, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, gambling etc; they are addicted to something. In many cases addiction can ruin lives. We all know that and we all can see where an addiction can lead. Not to good places, and the addict also knows this. So let me explain what I mean by you can't want it for me.
Let take two Crackheads. They share the same addiction, They go to court for whatever and the judge sentences them both to rehab. Addict one goes through rehab, gets released and within a week of being on the streets he is using again. Addict two comes out and a year later is still not using. So why does addict one relapse and addict two stay clean? They both went through the same rehab program.
Addict two wanted to make a change.
It's the same thing in every area of life including marketing. You build your downline and recruit A is still sitting there in the same situation he was in when you recruited him, but Recruit B is growing his business and gaining success, Why? Because Recruit B wanted it.
Can you 'force' people to join your business? Yes you can. How many people drag friends and family into their hot new business? Did all of those friends and family want to be there or did they join to stop the constant join my business annoyance. And even if you are making millions, they will still be sitting in the same situation years from now.
You cannot make anyone be successful, you can provide them with tools and guidance but that is all. Whether or not they will be successful is up to them. You have to learn to let go. If they want success they will work for it, they will ask for guidance, they will be a sponge for knowledge, If they don't want to be successful all the prodding, and poking and pulling in the world by you will not change that, it will simply make you tired.

Amen Paula! The motivated will want it for themselves.

What I am trying to do is make people excited for a program or service. Make them see the value and quality. I do that by writing about it in an ethical way not making false promises and math models of the best possible outcome. The best I can hope for is to light the fuse of passion. That is much more difficult than getting a sign up just giving away a free e-book or what ever. But I'd rather have a few motivated people in my downline than a load of fence sitters.

I think too many marketers are trying to force their downlines to be active. They get into this rut and begin to make their own success dependent on their downline being successful. They get so caught up in worrying about the success of the downline that they forget that their own success depends on them, not the downline.

True Joseph but your see so many who get bent out of shape over downlines that don't want success. Eventually they get to the point that they lose their own dreams because they are making the success of slugs the basis of their own success. They are so caught up with trying to get others to move, they forget they have to work for their own success too.

Wow this absolutely so true Cheryl, you can lead a horse to water will it drink who really knows depends on how thirsty he or she is...But all we can do is provide them with the tools and allow them to make their own decisions and see where it leads them too..All we can do....
