[whats your business?] what is your main program..
whats your business? what is your main program that above all others you want to succedd with?
Do you even know what that is?
IF you owned a shoe store in your town, and after the first month a salesperson walked in and offered you to change it to a dress store. Would you? probably not after only 1 month of being open. What then if another salesperson walked in another month later and offered you an opportunity to open a fish store. Would you? again probably
not.
Real people and businesses set themselves up to run for years. It's true that if a store does not make money over time that they need to sell something else or change there offer but not change every month. I'm a shoe store, no I'm a dress store this
month, now I'm a fish store this next month.
Does that sound reasonable? No it doesnt.
Then why as online marketers do we continuasly on a daily basis get offered the next big thing each and every day, We take that offer and then in a couple more days another big offer comes along that we drop what we just joined in hopes this next program
will be the program that makes us rich? It's foolish marketing and is one of those
reasons the statement 97% is true. If you cant choose 1 program and stay with it for long enough that it shows it's working or not for you, You will always be jumping from program to program marketing like this.
Try this one it's the best. No try this one it will be the last program you ever need. what
about this new program you cant do without. Oh No it's not, this program will be your goldmine. If you really think about it would a solid business person keep offering program after program day after day without even making one
of them work? Probably not.
It's not that offering new programs is wrong, it's are you, the person looking at it, really got the time to work it, do you have a foundation to back up your new promotion?
Each business, especially online business, needs a solid foundation that needs to be
the mainstay and go to way of making money. Once you have that foundation set. Entering new programs should be more profitable as you have taken the time to set up and continuesly run your main business to success that you can afford to move into a new opportunity.
If that shoe store owner took the time to make there business solid and profitable, They would then be able to open a dress or fish store as there main business, the shoe store, has solidified and is there to keep things going. We as online marketers Must create and maintain a main business foundation so we can afford to move into new opportunities. With out that foundation to back us up we will continue to struggle and fail trying to make the next best opportunity work before the next big opportunity comes along, and then the next and the next.
Once you choose which business model to go with the next thing you must do is to build a contact base in that industry you can learn from and use as a customer base.
This is commonly referred to as list building or lead capturing. A most common technique used by offline businesses as well as on the net. Do you use a rewards card for the store you shop at? If you do you basically are giving the store the right to use your name and contact as well as track what you purchase to use that information to better there products and sales techniques. Then the store can send you coupons on items
you normally purchase that are not advertised in the regular flyer. That is basic list building. Find interested people that use your business that you can contact with new business proposels, bonuses fun stuff or just to say hi.
Online the basic method is to use a lead capture web page that offers the person looking a reason to submit there name and email contact information. Once the person verifies there contact information you are then allowed to contact them to supply them with what they signed up for and for you to continue to find out what they want and will spend there money on so you can sell it to them.
Let's for example say you are opening an online shoe store. A simple technique could be that when a person visits your homepage to look at shoes they are offered a chance to get 50% off there first purchase if they answer a simple few question survey. Keep it short so they do it. Get them to verify there name and email when they do the survey and once the survey is done and verified they get an email with an online coupon that gives them 50% off there first purchase. Now you have there name and contact info as well as more info becasue of the survey they completed.
Use that info to upsell the items the survey says most people are after etc. Also send
the people an email telling of any new shoe news or new shoe styles that have come into
the store. There is alot more to do to properly maintain an active list of repeat customers but is so worth it almost all businesses do it in some form or another.
So what's your main business? Do you build on it daily? If not. Why?
