I have a great Idea but I already know it won't fly
Is it just me or is Sarah Palin the poster child of what is wrong with the US Government? She ran for Vice President with part of the platform being about family values when she has an unwed pregnant teenage daughter. And now coming up on 2012 campaign season and she once again proves she's a lost cause. Paul Revere made his famous midnight ride to warn...the British. And her explanations have only dug the hole deeper.
We won't even discuss all the bruises and wounds the Poor Constitution and Bill of Rights have had inflicted on them since 2001. So here is my novel idea.
When someone legally Immigrates to this country and becomes a citizen, they have to take a citizenship test. Unfortunately a third of natural born Americans would fail the citizenship test. I propose that the test be a condition of running for any political office in the US Federal, state or local. And lets take it one step further, let's make passing the test a condition of being hired for any government job.
But this wouldn't fly, and Sarah Palin is a good example of why. She hasn't got a clue and that works for politicians. Because if most politicians sat down and compared the laws they create to the constitution they would find that their laws are unconstitutional so Ignorance is bliss for them. They can blithely go about enacting any illegal law they wish and the ignorance of American citizens insures that there is no opposition to this.
It's a shame that someone born in another country and Naturalized as an American Citizen knows more about America than those born here.

Yes Roosevelt and when the founding fathers framed the constitution, they put the power in the hands of the people not the federal government and they also constitutionally limited the power of the Federal government in the 10th Amendment
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
In other words powers is not granted to the Federal Government by the Constitution, that ar

I am not fond of Sarah Palin but she does articulate the views and vision of many Americans. Sarah Palin does uphold the Bill Of Rights and the Constitution as intended by the Founding Fathers and that is a good thing. The Founding Fathers wanted the American masses to be informed citizens but the current political "powers that be" want us to be like the rest of the socialist world of dumbdowned citizens of the Nanny State. Good article, Cheryl.

Sarah Palin was referencing his Midnight Ride, last I heard he was shouting "The British are coming!"
And removing PS and AH Are the problem. PS Teaches the different types of government and how to identify them. AH Teaches us the goals of the founding founding fathers. When you don't know your history, you are bound to repeat it. The fed is a good example. Our founding fathers were against a central banking system and more than once got rid of one of these organizations and what do we

Yes,Cheryl your idea will work. First, you must do a ( CA) I remember that from school, just can't remember what it is. (Someone will know)
Taking PS and AH out of school was not the problem. The problem was taking CP out of the school.
Yes, Paul did make several rides to warn the British. He then made "The Midnight Ride". What DiD he warn the British about?

This is true. When I went through school Political Science and American History were both required as part of the curriculum. Those classes are no longer required in public schools since it's not part of the 'standardized' testing every state requires through the "No Child Gets Ahead" Act. I'm just calling it what it is. No child left behind is just a nice way of saying "We are going to make sure every child stays at the same level of stupidity."

this is actually a reflection of the education system which of course is another victim of govt policy
