What do Jehovah witnesses and the average internet marketer have in common?

You wouldn't think these two groups have anything in common but they do, they both have the often deserved reputation of being pushy, aggressive and to use my favorite personal acronym..P.I.T.A.s; Pain In The_______ (feel free to fill in the blank).

Jehovah Witnesses can be the most annoying missionary group out there and they often prove it.  I hate to see them inthe neighborhood because they do not know how to take no for an answer and will intrude on you without a care in the world.  I've had more than one experience with them and none of them good.

When I was working for the police department on the graveyard shift, I had a sign at my front door that clearly said "Day Sleeper".  Did this stop them?  Oh no they would knock at the door not once but until they had awakened you to give you their pitch.  Or I would be coming outside to get in my car (This is usually a clue that the person is going somewhere and would not want to listen to a pitch).  Did that stop them? Oh no they will still delay you without thought to give you their pitch.

A lot of internet marketers are the exact same way.  They do not in any way care about their prospects, all they want to do is give you their pitch.

They send a contact request not to meet you and say hello, but to send you a link to their program.  They post a comment on a thread not to add to the conversation but to post a link to their program.  Their only goal is to shove a link to their program in your face, you do not matter to them beyond how much money they can make off of you.

If this is what you think it's about, you're mistaken.  It's all about building relationships.  Getting to know others so that they want to know about you and maybe do business with you, until you learn that you will never have the success that you could have.

Dave Gilbert has written a couple of great articles today that break this down.  If you still think shoving links at people is how it's done, I suggest  that you put these articles on your reading list.
