I've got a bridge to sell
I'm not sure where I want this article to go, but something is bothering me. I suppose it can go in the category of a rant, but here it is........What does the word "guarantee" mean in the internet marketing world? There is a dictionary definition. It's something like this; a promise or assurance that something is of specified quality, content, benefit, etc .... assuring a particular outcome, etc" .
Most people probably have a good idea of the meaning.
So, does this meaning not apply in internet marketing / advertising? To illustrate, take this little sentence from an email ad I received today :
"The system does 100% of the marketing for you and
even 100% guarantees your success!"
even 100% guarantees your success!"
Am I supposed to believe this? My success (whatever that means) is 100% guaranteed. Really? Where do I sign?
That little sentence really go me going. Then I started thinking about other words and their meanings. Words like "easy" and "the best". Maybe they don't mean what I think the mean.
I don't know, I guess my little rant is over.
Except ............
.........You know what I'm thinking now, if people are really that gullible, there's this bridge...

I know this might seem like wishful thinking, but I hope that one day we shall have some form of regulation that will weed out the thieves, fraudsters and charlatans from the network marketing field. A fantasy, I know...

The only guarantee is that your money is gone and not likely to come back.

Selling with words. You can buy information about how to hype up your marketing and basically lie to people. I think that is becoming commonplace.
There are hundreds (or more) of businesses being sold with words. The problem is that most people don't take the time(or the information is not available at the time you sign up) to understand exactly how the guarantee works.
Desperate people want to believe the holy grail has been found and don't investigate properly. They become prey.

Lmao!! I sooooooooo get it! There is no honor on the net it seems, everyone is out for blood and to take advantage of us little guys that have not hit it big. Most of us are so desperate to make something here that we tend to "hope" and end up making stupid moves. Anyone that says "They do the marketing for you" has got me a bit glossy eyed and not trusting it. Every time I try to promote something it is up to ME to promote it, no one else!

It reminds me of a joke... I'm a fan of the Montreal Canadiens professional hockey team.
A man finds a bottle. He opens it. A genie comes out. The genie says: "I give you one wish". The man says: "I want bridges across all continents." The genie says: "Too hard, try something else." The man says: "I want the Montreal Canadiens to win the Stanley Cup." The genie says, "How many lanes on your bridges?"
:)
Sorry for being off topic.
