Is It Better To Comment Or Not?
While browsing content on APsense, I have noticed some outlandish headlines. Which brings me to this question, "Is it better to comment or not?" It is obvious some people have NO Clue what they are promoting or they are just oblivious to the fact it is a crap program. Should we comment and try to make that person see the light or just leave them in their own little world and hope no one else will join them?
It is hard for me to pass these by without wanting to put in my two cents worth of my opinion. Perhaps the person is truly new to online marketing and thinks it is possible to turn $19 in to One Million in 60 days. Maybe I could save them some time, money, and heartache. Or, would it just make me look like a cynical old bat who wants to criticize. Most people are very defensive of the programs they promote. I have been on that side of the fence too, so I can speak from experience. It is very disheartening when something you are promoting, turns out to not be what you expected.
So, I ask again, Is it better to comment or not?
Please comment on this one, I am looking for honest opinions.

Phlippe is right, a PM would be a better idea so the person won't feel outed or out there in front of everyone. If your heart is in the right place then your spirit won't allow you to rest if you just sit back and watch someone get ripped off without saying anything but its none of your business. I say either speak on it or leave it alone, you'll have to live with your decision either way.

Very good point, Catherine. I must admit I skip reading through programs that are being widely promoted and yet seem bogus to me. I don't even make the effort to comment most of the time, my bad. I suppose a non-offensive comment wouldn't be so bad, esp. if it would save others from falling into the same trap.

I find it easier to be soft the first time, a little firmer the second time, frequently through PM. Praise in Public, criticism, same gentle style

It all depends on the choice of words you use in your comment. Attacking the person is not the wtg, IMO. Many times, it's ignorance of certain facts which make some people promote too good to be true programs. Sometimes a PM is more appropriate.
I believe many people are afraid of some kind of retaliation if they do comment, even if they do their best to do it constructively. Or maybe they don't really care, or are simply afraid it will hurt their business.

Admin worked, a comment is gone. The gentleman that consistently advertised and sometimes spoke in Spanish. He's gone...

@Paul your quote "It wasn't that long ago that I was involved in something shady and someone bought it to my attention WITH PROOF and I became hyper sensitive and defensive and was willing to fight to the death to defend my decision"
This is exactly the kind of reaction I want to avoid. Although, I feel somewhat obligated to mention they should do some more research, How do you do that without someone throwing up their defenses? Tact or not, it is human nature to become defensive or just th

I say comment but with tack, It wasn't that long ago that I was involved in something shady and someone bought it to my attention WITH PROOF and I became hyper sensitive and defensive and was willing to fight to the death to defend my decision calling the person everything from a hater to someone who was just saying that to get me to join their program.
In the end, even though the way this person put it out there was in a ridiculing manner, I relented and did more due diligence and found out

Oh my, seems like I've seen this name before numerous times and reported for advertising. Looks like it is time to report to admin directly. If I were admin, I am not, you would be gone. Second your content is not applicable to the discussion.

A couple of things spring to mind from this article.
First it's not just the the newbie marketers out there promoting the dodgy programs. Unfortunately some high profile folks also seem to be doing that, and it seems that they are being successful at making money from unsuspecting people desperate to join the programs they promote. It is rewarding to note that your comments, and the support of others who have the same thoughts, can lead to these promoters change their tactics. That would not

What an adorable puppie, well dog. But adorable.
Hi Catherine
What an awesome question. I hope you get some opposite responses also, however, I am on 3 for 3 of comment. The member may be a newbie surfer or a newbie APSense member. If the person has honor points does not impact my decision. I have seen many members promote junk programs and have 100+ honor points. I also base my comment on what others have said. I do my best not to repeat what others have said. I do my best to contribute a d

That's a tuff one Katharine. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. There are so many programs that don't work because of the structure that i would need 14 days a week to write comments on them. I found a middle solution by creating the newbies group where i link to the anti scam groups and posted some articles with the subject that it is not all gold that shines. And I spend some credits now and than to articles about scams. Some take notice, many ignore and some want to shoot the messenger. Th

Make the comment. That person may be defensive yes but your comment may save someone else from getting caught in the same trap.
