Should You Pay For Training?
I have been speaking with other online marketers who, either have in the past or are now, paying for Internet Marketing Training. I, also, discovered a person I know and respect offering a 21 day course. These training courses vary in price from $20 to $50 a month. Or, as is the case of a limited course, you may pay $99 to $399 for a week or a month of training.I have no doubt there is valuable information which can be learned from other marketers. My question is: "Should you pay for training?" When I first started marketing online, I attended several training webinars which were offered for free. To this day, this is some of the most valuable information I have learned about marketing online. Now, my primary company offers free training by other successful members. It is my opinion, if you plug in with any legitimate online business, there will be free training offered.
I know there will be people out there who have taken training courses who might claim they are invaluable. My question is still: "Should you pay for training?" I think it is obvious which side I am on. My answer is NO. You can receive training from many successful online marketers who will be happy to help you at NO Charge. I think training courses, especially those with an affiliate program attached, are just a way for the Trainer to make money.
Start thinking about what you need to do to put money in YOUR pocket, not some guru trainer. That's my lesson for today......and it was FREE.

Advertising Your Business Is My Business
You hit it on the nail there Phillippe, it's not an expense, it's an investment in your business. I help free live training webinars with screen sharing the whole nine yards. I found that even though I was giving the exact information that I use everyday to put 20 to 50 new opt ins on my list, 10 to 20 new sign ups a day and actually make sales... They would say oh I needed that, then go right back to doing it absolutely wrong. lol. I then found that if I charged for my time, I got not only

It depends, Catherine. If you are in a group full of unmotivated people, a lot of time will be wasted.
If you get one on one training, or maybe one coach and 2 students, things might get very very interesting. If the coach is someone who has real success online, verifiable success, and he notices your efforts stand out from the crowd, you might get invited to something awesome. Chances are, it won't be free.
You never know. See it as an investment, not an expense.

Good article, Catherine. However i think there is no distinction between an affiliate program that offers teaching and a teaching program that offers affiliate commissions. The prime issue is the quality of the teaching and referral program not whether one is "paying" for teaching. Nothing is absolutely free. We pay directly or indirectly, one way or another for every thing, as I see it.
