Contacts on Apsense

As a Social Worker & Counselor I find it really strange trying to understand when we contact people on Apsense or they have left a comment on one of our Campaigns so we then ask them to be a friend to say thank you and they Decline...!!
I couldn't imagene in my field of work if I was to decline one of the Children I was given to protect where would they be if I had the choice to decide if that child was not worthy of my friendship.....
Maybe I am niave but I believe everyone is a potential friend good or bad we all have something to learn from each other and if we are not willing to have an open heart then we as humans should expect many doors never to open...
I hope that all people on Apsense will at least be open to any contact as it could be the contact that starts an amazing global friendship!
Vikki-Lee :-)

Adding contact is the way to give permission to people for sending message to you.
If there were no scammer or spammer, no virus, no spyware in the world, why we need requesting to contact, installing antivirus softare?

Hi Vikki-Lee
First and foremost, may i applaud you for the tireless hours you have spent helping kids. Most of the time, people who are involved in social services never receive a "thank-you"... so please accept my heart-felt THANK YOU!!!
As for others declining an offer of friendship, I can only guess they have their reasons...albeit radical reasons.
I for one consider it an honor and privilege to call you "friend"

A lot of the ones I have found who do this, they are commenting nearly every blog post or rev page they cross while on Apsense and they are doing it with one goal and reason. To take out, not put in.
Regardless of landing there for credits only or the more common non descriptive quote that seems like it may be about your post but could really be about any post and leave that impression. The latter do so to drop their signature link and are really SPAMMERS cloaked to look like real people who

Thank you all so much as I did not write this blog in the intent of gaining a heap of friends more to find answers and what I have read is beautiful in the sense that there are people out there who really join Social Networks not just to promote their business but to learn from each other Globally. I have just started a new group called "Green Eggs & Ham" due to the fact Kim wrote a blog about "Black Friday" in the US, which threw me as an Aussie as I thought the US was heading for the Black Ho

Hi Vikki,
Seems there is a fear of friendship out maybe tied to a fear of commitment,

Very insightful post Vikki. It's just what is needed to engage others. The evidence of this is the amount of responses you have. Keep up the good work.

Many great answers have been given I accept all contact requests that not saying people stay on my list. You have to understand that there are two schools of thought here. I accept all contact requests yes but I do not send requests to everyone on the network.
On one hand you have what I call the 'deadwood' collectors. They run around sending requests to everyone either to build a list to spam or to make themselves look like 'popular' members.
On the other hand you have people who are t

Can't add much to what has already been said here, but agree that it's nothing to lose sleep over. There can be many reasons, or none whatsoever, lol. Some people only chose to connect w/ those who they think are prospects for a biz; Some are looking for people who do the same type of marketing--I like to meet as many as possible, and feel I can learn and network with people from all backgrounds.

You raise a good question here. The first thing I do when someone connects with me to be a contact is to check their profile. In most every case I see that there is an opportunity to learn from each other. From there I do accept, but I see how things move along and if down the line there has been no basic contact or networking taking place I would then contact them to see about continuing as a contact or dropping them as a contact.
Now in saying that I have never declined a contact, althou

I agree with Abraham. Our profile, well done profile is our business card. When we want have new friends, anywhere in social sites recipient our request always look with who want connect. He read about us, then accept invite or not.
Good tip is give our Skype id or phone number to contact live with new friend.
Bad is give our email...Online world unfortunately is full of spammers. This is really sad, but true.

My contact request has been rejected a few times. I do not know why. I think those who reject are the ultimate losers.

In my experience, there will be a time when you will gain more friends that you might care to entertain on a social network! LOL!
I'm sending you a friend request! :)
