Geographic Add Targeting For Apsense Campaigns?

I have a recommendation I'd like to present to the powers that be on Apsense.
I'm Not sure if its something that would be able to be accomplished, but one of the problems I've noticed with Apsense is, we get alot of useless (untargeted) traffic from our campaigns resulting in wasted credits from other countries. (outside the US & Canada).
Many member(s) programs are only availble to US and Canadian Residents.
I would like to see us be able to target specific geographic locations. This would guarantee that our campaign adds are seen by who we want and not have all our credits wasted by the spammers who use it simply to gather credits.
UPDATED: In response to the post by Paula concerning not being able to view sites and earn credits since she does not live in the USA. (which I hadnt considered)
One of the options could be "no targeting". meaning that you do not have to choose specific area's. I'm thinking that many folks will want to target everyone, so You would still have pleanty of adds to view to acquire your credits.
The folks that choose "targeted" areas could be charged extra credits to use this feature.
What are your thoughts on this?

I agree! Great idea! I don't want my credits "wasted". It makes no sence for people in India to look at my page, I can not sell to them. I would love there to be options such as regions and languages.

Cheryl, I believe we can have the best of both worlds. First as a blog, when it's fresh and new, and people comment on it a lot. Then put it in an appropriate group, adding a link to the original blog for members of the group to see it and add their input. This way, people who join or are already members of the group will know the discussion had taken place. Most blogs tend to be forgotten fast.

I can see the advantages but also the disadvantages for earning credits, especially for small countries like the Netherlands. When somebody lives in a certain county this does not mean he/she can not be active on a global level. When geo targeting would start most people would choose USA and Candada i think wich means I would not have the ability to earn credits from those specific countries although I have websites targeting these countries.

It's much easier on the admins to have all the APSense related content in one place. And it's much easier for new members to find OFFICAIL APSense information if they are not looking at a dozen different groups using the word APSense. It was discouraged before the change to 2.0 and was NEVER Allowed in Community 2.0.
@Laura the blog is actually fine where it is. as a blog it is readily accessible to all APSense members instead of to a handful pf members in a group.

Thanks Laura, I think this is a very good idea. Ten Tops for you for thinking about it.
Facebook advertising has been very successful using this method, and i think it can broaden everybodies horizens if implemented. I know i have products that i can then advertise here that i am currently not advertising.
Paula, i think you don't need to worry too much, most of the opportunities and services advertised here is available globally, the only persons that would loose out is the credit thieves.

I took the liberty of posting the content of the blog ( not the comments ) into the "Pro-active ApSense" group.
You can see that here :

@Cheryl, I didn't know you had anything against using the Word ApSense in group names.
I will ask OldBuddy to change the name of the "Pro-Active ApSense" group. How about "Pro-active and creative marketing" ? It would fit the bill, IMHO.
I asked Oldbuddy to be a moderator in that group. I intend to make it more active. For instance, by putting a discussion called "Table of Content", a wonderful idea of Paula that I've applied or will apply in the groups I created.

Seems like the sticking points have been well thought out here> I havenot been on the business exchange so cannot speak to that part of the experience but I have done ads on Facebook. Campaigns can be broken down to age groups or any othe demographic that can be segmented. Then analytics show the advertiser the most active responders. I can see the opportunity to match campaign demographics to the "wants" tags and the other profile tags.

Let me just mention here the reason for the APSense group. It is to keep all APSense specific posts like this one in ONE place rather than admins trying to run around from group to group hunting down information.
Let me also say that The APSense network group is the only OFFICIAL APSense group. Bill and I are both totally against members using "APSense" in the names of their created groups.
Not only does it give the appearance of being an 'official' APSense group, but it causes confusi

Cheryl, You put it so eloquently. I was having a hard time trying to explain it and you did it perfectly. Thank you so much for your input. I hope Wincer will read this blog and take this idea into consideration. (if at all possible).

Yes,Phillipe--just found that group today--Agree this is a perfect question for that page.

Good point, Al. If it's not too much trouble, and I was in Wincer's place, I would set it up. Like a "test and tweak" thing. Lord knows Wincer does a lot of that, to make sure we get the best experience possible. I have seen many changes in the past months, official ones announced by Wincer, and little ones a few times a week we see as surprises when we log in.

The APSense network Group is for APSense specific information. That is where announcements and news is posted. I'm not sure if Wincer set everyone as subscribers or not I'll check.
As far as your Idea Linda I Think it's a good one. What I market is only available in the US and parts of Canada, so people outside of those areas clicking on my link get a variety of "unavailable" etc error messages. It would be a total waste for me to do campaigns promoting what I have to anyone outside of the

I am still a newbie, of course, but this seems like a viable idea. Especially with the higher credit cost for posting a "restricted" campaign. As opposed to Paula's concern that it would limit some people's ability to earn credits--my question would be--would this be an option ENOUGH Apsense members wanting this option to make it worth Wincer's effort to set it up. There a are a few mlm's that would apply for this of course---but would enough users need it?

@Laura, the name of the group is really "Pro-active ApSense". Every one who joins is a contributor.
The group you were talkng about is the big group, 38,000 members, the "ApSense Network". Everyone is a subscriber there. I've never been into that group, honestly, I don't see the point of that group right now.

What would be great is if the credits were given only on approval of the comment by the member who launched the campaign. This way, people would learn to write things besides "great post" or "interesting information". When you decline the comment, the number of seats gets back to what it was.
I mean, when I launch a campaign, most of the time, I take a look immediately if someone posted a comment.
To tell the truth, that's what I would do, if I launched campaigns allowing comments. You mak

This discussion belongs in the Pro-Active ApSense group, IMHO.
I joined that group yesterday. I didn't know it existed. To me, that group should be for creative marketing, just like we are talking about here. Let's leave general IM ideas for the "Internet Marketing Tips" and "Business Round Table" groups.

LOL I'm sure he can. It's more a question of not doing everything at the same time, IMO. Wincer has worked very hard at improving the sites. There have been tremendous changes in the last 2 months.
