Like human beings, swimming pools also need to be well taken cared of. They also deserve the proper maintenance like other recreational centers do. In order to make things a lot easier, pool supplies can help you in the process.

Part of the swimming pool maintenance is the process of water chemistry. In this process, the use of pool chemicals and other pool cleaners play a very essential role in the preservation of the pool. They don't just maintain the alkalinity and PH of the water, but the most important thing that they can do is to keep the pool  water safe and healthy to swim in.

After a long, cold winter, everybody wants to enjoy a summer fun-filled swimming. Swimming is a healthy and fun way to get out of the summer heat, but there's  more to swimming than just the enjoyment. Pool owners know that there is a delicate balancing that is happening behind the scenes as they carefully adjust pool chemicals to ensure safe, clean, and healthy swimming water.

 
Chemicals used in the swimming pool includes:


1. Disinfectants - these are used to destroy harmful or otherwise objectionable microorganism through the process of disinfection. Disinfectants should generally be distinguished from antibiotics that destroy microorganisms within the body, and antiseptics that destroy microorganisms in living tissues.


2. Alkalinity and PH Adjusters - these are used to maintain a consistent acid-base relationship and acid buffering capacity.


3. Chlorine Stabilizers - these are used to prevent unnecessary loss of chlorine. They are organic compounds and their main function is to prevent the chlorine be oxidized by the sun.

 
4. Algaecide - this is used to prevent the growth of algae. This performs best as a back up to a routine sanitation program. The use of algaecide is often recommended. It is, however, can result in water foaming, a change in total alkalinity and PH, and an increase in TDS.
 
5. Filter Aids - these are used to remove the foreign materials in pool water. Filter Aids are also used to assist filtration of colloids, extra fine particles, gel like, and highly dense materials that are difficult to be filtered because of low filtrate rate.
