Survival - Roots or Shoots
I was reading an article today about trees.
The article stated that the one key to survival of trees is that they have more roots than shoots. If there are more shoots than roots the tree will be short-lived.
If the tree puts down a great deal of roots and adds shoots more slowly, it is liable to be long-lived and more resistant to stress or strain.
Comparing this with the effort of network marketers, the get rich quick schemes are like the tree that has lots of shoots and few roots. They are short-lived.
However, if you take the time to build your business or affliate program by building relationships you are like the tree that puts down a great deal of roots. The more roots (relationships) you put down the more stable and long-lived your business will be.
In comparing network marketers with the tree that has more shoots than roots, they are the ones who keep jumping from program to program. Never staying and working long enough in one program to put down roots and then you don't hear from them anymore.
A tree does not grow into maturity in one month, or three months ... it takes many years for it to grow into maturity. Even so the network marketers will only be long-lived and survive if they put time, effort, persistence, and consistency into their business.
Are you like the long-lived tree that has a great deal of roots and grows? or are you like the short-lived tree that puts out a lot of shoots but has very few roots and dies.
