Fabio Capello has named John Terry as captain for England's international friendly with the USA tomorrow evening (Wednesday).

The England manager has selected the Chelsea skipper to lead his country after naming Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand as captains respectively for his first two games in charge.

'I made the decision before the Champions League Final and now it plays very well for him to be captain, I told him and he was very happy,' said Capello.

'It is very important to have a leader and John Terry is a leader.'

Capello also confirmed there would be a strong Chelsea presence in the team for tomorrow's clash, including Frank Lampard, who has not had a chance to play under Capello since his appointment as England manager due to injury.

'I know Frank Lampard very well and I am very happy to see him in the midfield tomorrow because he is a very important player for us.

'I hope tomorrow he will play a good game because it is very important for the Chelsea players to play in the national team and try to forget their last game in Moscow.

'In this game the Chelsea players will play,' explained the Italian.

England will play the USA at Wembley tomorrow evening; kick-off is at 8pm.
