Hopefully Jeff you have better luck, or at least no Peg running pass interference.

But seriously your shoes are very important.  I was cursed with a wide foot and often have trouble finding shoes that fit.  As a baby my mom had to drive 30 miles to find EEE shoes for me.  The one thing I don't skimp on is my shoes.  It's important to remember all the weight of the world rests on your feet.

Gaining or losing weight, standing for long periods can affect the shape and size of your foot.  I make it a point to go to a good shoe store at least every couple of years and have my foot measured.

When you go to buy a new pair, always shop at the end of the day.  Everyday stress and normal activity affect your body.  If you shop in the mornings when you are fresh out of bed you cannot allow for how those everyday stressors affect you.

Always make sure that your shoes have good arch support.  Over time your arches can fall resulting in stress fractures of the bones in your feet.

If the shoe is not comfortable, don't buy it.  Yes those 4 inch stilettos are sexy buy you will pay for it when you wear them for any length of time.  High heels throw your body off balance is.  That sexy walk is not worth the back problems you may face later on.

If you wear heels on a regular basis incorporate calf stretching exercises into your routine to keep the flexibility of the muscle.
