Too true to be funny?
Too true to be funny?
I cross ocean poor and broke
Take bus to see employment folk.
Nice man treat me good in there.
Say I need to see Welfare.
Welfare say, "You come no more. We send money to your door."
Welfare cheques - they make you wealthy!
Free NHS it keep you healthy!
By and by I got plenty money.
Thanks to you, you British dummy!
Write to friends in motherland.
Tell them "Come quick as you can!"
They come in turbans and Ford trucks.
I buy big house with Welfare bucks!
They come here. We live together.
More Welfare cheques! It just gets better!
Fourteen families moving in but neighbours patience wearing thin.
Finally, white guy moves away.
I buy his house then I say
"Find more aliens for house to rent."
In the yard I put a tent.
Everything is very good and soon we own the neighbourhood.
We have hobby - it's called breeding.
Welfare pay for baby feeding!
Kids need dentist? Wife need pills?
We get free! We got no bills!
British crazy! They pay all year to keep Welfare running here.
We think UK a darn good place.
Too darn good for white man race!
If they no like us, they can scram!
Got lots of room in Pakistan!
This poem is one of the symptoms of a huge swelling of unrest and resentment among the, currently, silent majority of too many indigenous races.
It breaks just about every aspect of the laws that were introduced to prevent racial prejudice (but which actually fostered the crime!) but it contains far too much truth to be ignored.
But it will be!
It is not a coincidence that we are seeing more and more racially motivated acts of violence and more xenophobic behaviour among the more extreme members of society.
When are our governments going to realise that they cannot keep pushing their own people to the back of the queue just to satisfy some peculiar need to prove that they are prejudiced against their own people - they are not racially prejudiced! (Their own people are not a race. Nice distinction, don't you think?)
While people are still joking, there is still hope that sanity will push itself forward - but isn't it insane that humour, the biggest safety valve of all, is against the law in these circumstances?
The silent majority is starting to get a little noisy - here's hoping the noise is heard where it can do some good.
