My biggest job in my life is cooking for my family.  Never had I thought that it would be so hard.  I had many goals for cooking for my family.  It was mainly to contribute to the fiances of our household.  So all of my recipes will be very filling.  Taste great and fast to make since we are always on the go.  Not to mention easy on the pocketbook.  One thing about me is food is everything and anything in life.  Sustainance, pleasure, and if cooked right ADDICTIVE!!  The best things to share in life to friends is a wonderful meal.

This is a very good dish.  But, I fear not too heart healthy.  People that you cook for will love this so much that they will think that you have slaved over this for hours.  LOL!

Heavenly Shrimp And Pasta                                                                                           Animations - cheese-02

Ingredients:

1/2 pound to 1 pound of uncooked shrimp
1/2 Cup of Butter or any heart healthy butter
1 and 1/2 tablespoon of Cajun Seasoning
1 Pound of Angel Hair Pasta
1 tablespoon of Parsley

This is a wonderful dish that takes all of 7 minutes to cook!  What I do is find a deal on uncooked Shrimp (they will look grey instead of that pink you find most times).  I manage to find half a pound for 2 dollars and fifty cents at the local Publix here.  If I cut the shrimp down to a half pound I also cut the pasta down to a half pound.  It is good for a dinner for two at least.  Go ahead and get your kids to take all the little tails of the fresh shrimp.  They will think it was cool and feel like a part of the dinner process.  LOL!

After the tails are off the Shrimp.  Pull a skillet out.  Turn the burner you are using to meduim high heat.  Then, melt the 1/2 a cup of butter or any heart healthy butter in the skillet.  Along with 1 and 1/2 tablespoon of Cajun Seasoning.  Mix a little and move to starting the pasta.

Start a pot of water and a tablespoon of oil (olive oil or vegetable).  Bring it to a boil and poor the pasta in.  Cook for the desired minutes for the specific pasta you are using (you will find it located on the box of the pasta you are using).

By this time, your butter should have melted.  And it is time to poor the shrimp in.  Perfect time to take them out is when they are a nice pink.  It should take all of 5 minutes to cook entirely.

Pull the shrimp off the heat once cooked.  Drain the pasta.  Poor pasta in a bowl.  Poor the Cajun Spiced Buttered Shrimp over the Pasta.  And Sprinkle with the tablespoon of Parsley.

Ta Da!  Done and wonderful looking with a great taste!

Try it.  I would love to know how it turned out for you.  And if you had any adjustments or changes.  I like this dish because it is wonderful to taste.  Looks great and very filling!

Always,

Dawn

Hi Taslo

You have inspired me!! You are right about it not being heart healthy - but if you add a nice green salad with a little olive oil and lemon - it will balance it out! LOL

Off to the kitchen!

Thanks

Jenny

This dish is one of my favorites! :)

Fast and easy to prepare... It also makes one fine breakfast-- Just add eggs and you have a Frittata! :)
