The Star Trek Franchise is the most popular SciFi series bar none.  On TV it has spawned
Star Trek 1966-1969
Captain James T Kirk and crew boldly when where no  TV cast had gone before.   Featuring a multi-racial crew(if you add Mr Spock I suppose you could say  multi-species) that shattered all prejudices going so far as to add a Russian  navigator at the height of the Cold War.  It gave us a glimpse into a future free of prejudice, when all earth human and many other species had learned to work together for the betterment of all.

Star Trek The Animated Series 1973-1974
The crew of the Enterprise returned providing the voices for their characters on the Saturday morning cartoon

Star Trek TNG 1987-1994
Captain Jean Luc Picard led the crew on a continuing mission.  This time crew members had their families along for the ride.  Again Barriers were broken as a blind man became Chief Engineer, an Android learned to be "human" and gasp! A Klingon ended up being Chief of Security!

Star Trek DSN 1993-1999
Commander Benjamin Sisko broke another barrier as an African American became the "Captain" of a distant of the distant but all important Deep Space Nine which stood at the opening of the Bajoran Wormhole.  We also got to learn more about new races of aliens we had been introduced to on TNG including the Cardassians, Bajorans, Ferengi and the Trill.

Star Trek Voyager 1995-2001
As the Captain of the Voyager, Kathryn Janeway broke the last existing barrier.  Finally a woman was running the show.  With a crew in large part made up of the fugitive Maquis, we saw that the future was not all perfect there were still a few bugs to be worked out.

Star Trek Enterprise 2001-2005
With Enterprise, we are thrust back to the beginning.  There is no Federation as of yet and we are taken along on those first tentative steps into space travel.  Many die hard Trekkies were disappointed with this show as much of the Star Trek universe they were used to did not yet exist.

In addition to the various television series, Star Trek has also spawned a long list of movies. 10 already released with another due to be released Christmas of 2008.

So now on to the trivia...
October 5-7 2006 was a banner day for Trekkies around the world and the venerable Christie's Auction House placed 40 years worth of Trek Memorabilia on the auction block.  A total of $7,107,040 was generated by the sale.  Which item received the highest sale price at $576,000?

wow it only took three years for someone to come up with the answer!
I'm a trek fan too the only one I didn't like was Enterprise. Yes Generations was rather blah! I think they were trying to pass the torch or something.

Glad there's another true Trekkie around here.

LOL I guess I must chime in after all I have watched and Loved them all well except generations that was kinda Blahhhhh (IMHO) anyway kids ;o)

It was the model of the Enterprise that was used in the Next Generation series and the Generations movies.

Actually most of them are really cute on these types of shows. I guess growing up as the only child...I never had a brother to have to fight with on being able to watch all my girly shows.
I have a half bro and sis...but they always lived with their mother....

I can almost stand to watch it with the family here...but most times it is on...thank goodness is when I am on the computer!
I always did like Spock..he was always so cute to me..him and his pointed ear family.

I have never gotten into the star trek thing.....hence me and aliens....LOL!
