Speaking of strange fruits......
While shopping a few days ago we came upon a fruit committing identity theft! I swear it is an apple. It looks just like one but it's called a grapple (grape-al) . It looks just like an innocent apple but the claim is it tastes like a grape.
Well they've been sitting there for a bit because neither my sister nor I really wanted to be the first to test it out. I finally broke down today and find out what's up with this little ID thief. When I opened the plastic container the smell of grape came wafted out and slapped me silly. Yes it smells more like grape than grapes! However it needs a bit more practice for the taste part.
Interesting flavor nice and sweet but it doesn't really taste like either one to me. Maybe the two flavors are canceling each other out or something. But it's actually a tasty little critter and will be showing up on my shopping list!

After a little more research it's a definite case of identity theft. It's really an apple that has been infused with grape scent and flavor. So the apple is an identity thief. It's already claimed two victims the grape and by the sounds of it the banana. Now identity theft invades the peaceful world of the innocent fruits!

Hi Cheryl,
Haven't seen any 'grapples' around in our shops - we must be in the
wrong season or something. It's cherry season here, and stone fruits
- nectarines, peaches, etc. Some of the fruits I actually like, but it's a
short season, so I'm overdosing on them at the moment. :-)
