ICE (Immigrations and Customs Enforcement) 2007 Press releases

The following is a list of ICE press releases for 2007.  Normally one of these press releases covers multiple persons the number of persons involved and what their involvement is is noted in the body of the press release itself.  Just the detention/removals was over 37,000 for the year!

44 Worksite enforcement actions.  Worksite enforcement means illegal harboring and hiring of undocumented workers.  The workers are normally hiding behind fraudulent stolen identities

18 Document and Benefits fraud Commonly known as identity theft and ID Theft rings

23 human trafficking/smuggling again undocumented workers and white slavery

5 detention and removals.  These are criminals and fugitives from other countries.

So why have I reported this information?  This is for those of you who still think identity theft is about your credit cards and bank accounts.   Do you really think the leader of an identity theft ring cares about your finances when he can sell your identity to undocumented workers, felons and international fugitives?  Not just once either.  He can sell it as many times as he likes.  While you are worrying about someone accessing your bank accounts or hacking into your computer, other people have slipped into your identity with no problem.

Maybe that person is someone who has come here with the intention of making higher wages to make a better life for the family back home.  But it could be that person is running from the law or is wanted in another country, and they are pretending to be you.  If you still believe that identity theft is only about your finances or hacking into your computer, I strongly suggest to take a trip to the ICE website www.ice.gov and see what kind of people are being arrested on these identity theft charges and what kind of people are running these identity theft rings.  It will be an eye-opening experience, I guarantee it.
