Time to pay homage to the "Creature Features"!
Since it seems there are just as many horror movies as scary TV shows that are near and dear to people's hearts (just keep them away from your jugular vein) it's time to pay homage to them too. Any scary movie at all list it here and maybe what it was about.
If nothing else this will give us a really great library of frightful flicks perfect for an in home movie night!
I'm such a big buff of horror movies I'll start us off with a few good ones for a kids sleepover!
Younger kids
The Creature From the Black Lagoon
Nosferatu
Teens
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Final Destination
Adults
Alien
It's Alive
Saw
The Grudge

I just watched Creepshow, again. I'd forgotten how good this movie is. I love the segment with Hal Holbrooke and Adrienne Barbeau. But my favorite is watching Stephen King acting. "Meteor S**T!!!"
Some of the oldies are much better than what's being produced today!

In the small town where I worked we had a subdivision named Crystal Lake. Every year they had a "Jason" hanging from a tree at the entrance for Halloween

Our 4H camp in middle school we would go to Rock Eagle (Crystal Lake) in Covington, Georgia. And one of the Friday the 13th's were made there. They would have us all so scared to death about Jason...lol
They would even send us out to find the Jason mask.
Well, needless to say..they knew how to make us behave there at camp.
LOL

I must admit to being partial to the really bad horror movies. I that loud mouth that sits in the back of the theater laughing and hurling insults at the bad characters, bad acting and just in general stupidity of the entire movie.
On of the stupidest movies ever made was Friday the 13th. As our running joke around the police department went "They were told not to go and any one of our officers would have been within their rights to issue a speeding ticket, they got there so fast."

My boyfriend took me to see this movie, in hopes that I would get scared and grab him for security during the movie. Well..it didn't work, My mama taught me to be a lady at all times, no matter what.
I wound up marrying this guy though..lol

In order to truly appreciate The Grudge, look for a little obscure foreign film called "Ju on" Which is the original Japanese version.

I was so very disappointed in The Grudge! I waited until the very last second to be scared. I guess I'm just too desensitized. Two other movies I just couldn't stand where...The Hills Have Eyes and American Haunting. I would have to say, those three movies are my very least favorite scary movies.
